Latest Poll September 20th

What a day Saturday the 19th was. A few upsets and a few good games and some very memorable performances by players such as Leonard Fournette and Paul Perkins of UCLA. Greyson Lambert had an incredible day for the Georgia Bulldogs after transferring in from Virginia.

1. Ohio State 3-0: This team is undefeated, but they are really struggling right now and just hanging on. They have to get better and part of the problem in my opinion is off field distractions. Meyer needs to shut them down on the tweeting for one thing.

2. TCU 3-0: I’m still not completely sold on these guys, but hopefully they can prove me wrong.

3. Ole Miss 3-0: These Rebels are shooting stars right now. But, was Alabama overrated to begin with? They haven’t looked overly impressive this season. Ole Miss jumped out early and held on with Bama fans heading for the exit missing the best part. We also saw this last year with Ole Miss, but is this team different? Hold on and find out, and please don’t take Paul Finebaum’s word for it.

4. Georgia 3-0: Bulldog Quarterback Greyson Lambert had an incredible day passing and Georgia’s running game was going wild on South Carolina. Will the Bulldogs live up to potential and win the SEC East this year? Maybe Nick Chubb and Leonard Fournette have emerged as Heisman favorites.

5. Baylor 2-0: The Bears did not play but I have no choice but to move them up due to losses by teams above them. Defense, or lack of, will catch up with them some time this year. But, for now, they are number 5 on this Poll.

6. Florida State 3-0: The Seminoles were not overly impressive in Boston, but a win is a win and that offense is still young and will get better. Haters beware.

7. Notre Dame 3-0: The Irish beat a really good team in Georgia Tech on Saturday and they leaped past Michigan State into #7.

8. Michigan State 3-0: The Spartans did hang on to beat Oregon last week, but this was not the most impressive win against Air Force, and their supposedly exceptional offense needs to get it going.

9. LSU 2-0: Leonard Fournette put on a show, but Auburn is struggling on both sides of the ball. The LSU version of the Tigers may turn out to be world beaters, but we are going to have to wait and see with tough games coming up.

10. Alabama 2-1: The Tide did fight back last night and showed some spark. Offense is struggling.

11. Clemson 3-0: The Tigers didn’t impress the nation on Thursday Night, but they won against a desperate Louisville which says something.

12. Texas A%M 3-0: Aggies had to fight hard to beat Nevada.

Oklahoma 3-0: After beating Tennessee, the Sooners struggled for a while against in state Tulsa.

14. UCLA 3-0: The Bruins had a tough time with BYU on Saturday Night, but they held on to win. BYU has beaten Nebraska and Boise State, so they are not an SEC hand picked school. Sorry SEC fans, can’t resist a dig here and there and what’s with fans of conferences anyway?

15. Georgia Tech 2-1: They fell to the Irish at South Bend, but they are still a good team and will prove it all year long.

16. USC 2-1: The Stanford Cardinal just seem to play well against the USC Trojans. The Trojans are young other than at Quarterback and will get better.

17. Oregon 2-1: The Ducks are good, just not championship good in my opinion.

18. Mississippi State 2-1: The Bulldogs won easily against bad competition, but I am basing my ranking off of how they played against LSU.

19. Northwestern 3-0: Defense, defense, defense. The Wildcats are stout and slowed down the Duke Blue Devils.

20. Tennessee 2-1: The Vols are still a young bunch with a bright future.

21. Arizona 3-0: Wildcats can score, but not sure about that defense and especially without Scooby Wright.

22. Texas Tech 3-0: The Red Raiders were the latest team to kick Bret Bielema to the curb.

23. Missouri 3-0: Might be the worst 3-0 team in the nation.

24. Wisconsin 2-1: The Badgers should continue to improve but they have a few issues right now.

25. Stanford 2-1: Rough start for the Cardinal but I am a believer in their style of football.
