Players of the Week 1

Offense:

 

Kenny Hill- Texas A&M.  Kenny Hill had a fantastic debut on the brand new SEC Network against highly ranked South Carolina. Hill and his Aggies looked unstoppable.

He threw 511 yards on 44/60 passing which was good for 3 TDs.

Those numbers beat anything Johnny Manziel ever put up and this was in his very first game and against a supposedly quality opponent.

Watch out SEC!!!

 

The runner up is also from the SEC.

 

Todd Gurley – Georgia came in second. Gurley ran for 198 yards against what was supposed to be a top defense for the Clemson Tigers. Gurley is the top Running Back in the country and he ran through them like they were a Junior Varsity team.

His 198 yards came on only 15 carries giving him 13.2 yards per carry which is bordering incredible. He scored 3 TDs on the ground.

 

Then there is:

 

Ameer Abdullah – Nebraska: 21 carries for 232 yards and 1 TD at 11 yards per carry.

 

 

 

 

Defense:

 

Eric Kendricks- UCLA: 16 total tackles with 1 interception return for a TD of 37 yards and 1 fumble forced in a game against Virginia where UCLA defense basically won the game for them.

 

 

 

Also:

 

 

Henry Coley – Virginia:  14 total tackles, 2 sacks and 2.5 tackles for losses. Also broke up one pass and forced a fumble in an outstanding performance against highly ranked UCLA and Heisman candidate Brett Hundley.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Special Teams:

 

Todd Gurley – Georgia:  Besides his play on offense, Gurley had 1 Kickoff return for a TD of 100 yards.
