Continuing with Kevin Wilson of Indiana

At Maryland last Saturday, the Hoosiers of Indiana lost their star Running Back Jordan Howard early on. They scored first and took a 3-0 lead.

Then, the Terrapins of Maryland took off and built a 21-3 lead in the first quarter. It was all smiles on the Maryland sidelines.

But, that didn’t last long.

This is what I have been writing about all season when I posted about Zander Diamont and then two articles about Kevin Wilson.

They have a lot of fight in them and the Hoosiers came storming back, just like they have been doing all season. But, this time, they were fighting somebody their own size.
It was extremely difficult for the Hoosiers to hang in there with Ohio State, Michigan State, Penn State and Michigan. But, somehow, they kept fighting and they gave those teams fits. They lost all of those games, but the other teams knew they were in a fight.

That all comes from the top and head coach Kevin Wilson. When the Hoosiers had fought back to only being down 17 to 21, they even tried an onside kick and recovered to continue their offensive attack.

NFL prospect Quarterback Nate Sudfeld took up the slack from missing star Running Back Jordan Howard by throwing for 385 yards and 4 Touchdowns.

Leading receiver Simmie Cobbs Jr caught 9 passes for 192 yards. Mitchell Paige, who dropped the ball at the goal line against Michigan on the last play of the game, caught 5 passes for 64 yards and 2 Touchdowns.

Back up Running Back Devine Redding had 24 carries for 130 yards in his job as Howard’s replacement.

The Indiana defense gave up big yards to Maryland’s Brandon Ross on the ground, but they tightened up late in the game.

The Hoosiers have been playing tough all year only to lose at the end. This time, they played poorly at the beginning and then came on strong at the end.

The Indiana Hoosiers improved on the season to 5-6 with Purdue awaiting in their last game. The Boilermakers are 2-9 on the season, but this is a rivalry game and anything can happen.

Unless that anything that can happen, happens, then look for the Indiana Hoosiers to improve to 6-6 on the season and become bowl eligible.

Yes, there are too many bowl games, but I will look forward to the bowl that the Hoosiers play in. Whoever they play had better get ready for a dog fight.

In the coaching carousel, Syracuse as joined the growing number of schools that has fired their coach. So will Purdue in a few days, and don’t rule out LSU firing Les Miles.

If Indiana does fire Kevin Wilson, I will consider that just a terrible move.

This is a fun team to watch.
