Mitch Trubisky North Carolina Quarterback

In the ACC Championship game, North Carolina Tar Heels Quarterback Marquise Williams had his helmet ripped off by a Clemson Tiger defender and by rule he had to leave the game for one play. The Tar Heels’ back up Quarterback last season was Mitch Trubisky, a 6-3, 220 sophomore from Mentor, Ohio. Trubisky signed with North Carolina with the class of 2013. Coming out of Ohio, why didn’t the Buckeyes sign him? He was ESPN’s 7th rated Dual Threat Quarterback prospect and a high 4 star. The Buckeyes and Urban Meyer signed JT Barrett from Wichita Falls, Texas. Barrett was the 11th ranked Dual Threat Quarterback that season, but everyone outside of Mack Brown at Texas could see he could play. Ohio State did offer Trubisky, but maybe he just wanted out of the state of Ohio so he decided on North Carolina.

He redshirted during his true freshman season.

2016 should be an exciting season for the Atlantic Coast Conference. North Carolina won the Coastal Division in 2015 before losing to Clemson in the ACC Championship game.

North Carolina, Pittsburgh, Miami and Duke should be in a dog fight for the Coastal championship. Virginia Tech and Georgia Tech could also challenge if the ball bounces right.
