If the Season Ended Now

It’s early in the season, but if it were to end today this is my All American Team. A lot can change with so many games left, but I can’t help myself.

QB: Dak Prescott- Miss State. Prescott doesn’t have the numbers that some Quarterbacks possess, but he has good numbers and has led his team to a 5-0 record over good competition. One of the leaders in the Heisman race.

RB: Melvin Gordon- Wisconsin. The thing with Gordon is his life time yards per carry average. He has always averaged over 8 yards per carry which shows his explosiveness.

RB: Todd Gurley- Georgia. Gurley also has over 8 yards per carry while rushing for 773 yards and 8 Touchdowns. He also has a Kickoff return for a score. Probably the frontrunner for the Heisman.

WR: Amari Cooper- Alabama. Cooper has been one of the best players in America so far and has 52 catches for 746 yards and 5 Touchdowns.

WR: Kevin White- West Virginia. White is having a huge senior season with 48 catches for 765 yards and 4 Touchdowns.

WR: Nelson Spruce- Colorado. Spruce is having an incredible season for the Buffs with 62 catches for 732 yards. But, what sets Spruce apart is that he has 10 receiving Touchdowns.

TE: Bucky Hodges – Virginia Tech. Nobody much uses the Tight End any more but Redshirt Freshman and former QB Hodges is playing really well. He has 17 catches for 4 Touchdowns.

OT: Andrus Peat- Stanford. Returning starter and former 5 star recruit, Peat is among the nation’s best and will be a high pick in next year’s draft.

OT: Cedric Ogbuehi- Texas A%M. Moved this season from Right Tackle to Left Tackle to replace Jake Matthews.

OT:  Dan Skinner – Arkansas. At 6-10, one would think this guy would be clumsy, but he is far from it. He is absolutely dominating as a true sophomore.

OG: Laken Tomlinson – Duke. The man is a beast at 6-3, 330 and very quick.

OG: Jamil Douglas – Arizona State. Sun Devil offense is tough to stop and Douglas is a major reason behind that.

OG: Denver Kirkland – Arkansas. The man is a beast and the Razorbacks have one of the best running games in the country.

C: Reese Dismukes- Auburn. Four year starter for the Tigers and one of the nation’s best offensive Lines.

C: Hroniss Gronsu – Oregon. Maybe the top Center in the country.

Has 7 sacks so far this year.

DE: Nate Orchard- Utah. Leads the entire country in sacks with 8.

DE: Shane Ray – Missouri. The Tigers were supposed to miss Michael Sam this year but Ray has 7 sacks so far.

DE: Hau’oli Kikaha – Washington. Kikaha is another beast coming off the corner and also has 7 sacks on the season.

DT: Malcom Brown – Texas.  Team stinks but Brown is having a brilliant year with 31 tackles and 3.5 sacks and 7 tackles for losses.

DT: Danny Shelton – Washington. Shelton has had an amazing early season with 7 sacks from his Nose Guard position.

LB: AJ Johnson – Tennessee. Improved Tennessee is young but Johnson is their top tackler and defensive leader.

LB: Eric Kendricks- UCLA.  Kendricks has been a difference maker for the Bruins this year so far.

LB: Scooby Wright- Arizona. Wright has a funny name but he makes a lot of plays and is largely responsible

LB: Dakota Cox – New Mexico. Nobody thinks about New Mexico but Cox is the top tackler in the entire country and deserves some mention.

CB: Kendall Fuller – Virginia Tech. One of the top corners in the country with 12 pass break ups. Also has 21 tackles and 2 sacks, 2 tackles for losses, and 1 interception returned for a Touchdown.

CB: Vernon Hargreaves III – Florida. Other teams mostly avoid Hargreaves other than Alabama but he still has 15 tackles and an interception.

CB: Ishmael Adams- UCLA. Adams is one of the most exciting players in the nation. He has 18 tackles and a few pass breakups but what makes him stand out is his interception returns and special teams play. He has run back both of this interceptions for Touchdowns and a Kickoff for a Touchdown so far this year. He had another Touchdown on a punt return but it was called back.

S: Gerod Holliman – Louisville. Holliman has an incredible 7 interceptions so far in 2014. One of his interceptions he returned for a Touchdown. Also has 18 tackles.

S: Cody Prewitt – Ole Miss. Prewitt has been one of the best Safeties in the country for a while and the Ole Miss defense is superb. Prewitt has 25 tackles and an interception.

Kicker: Roberto Aguayo – Florida State. This guy coming from a school that is famous for missed Field Goals, just doesn’t miss.

Punter: Will Gleeson- Ole Miss. Incredible control over the football. Australian punters are all the rage.

Kickoff return man: Trevor Davis – Cal. Could be any number of return guys but Davis has 2 Touchdowns so far.

Punt return man: Quan Bray- Auburn. Bray is a quality Wide Receiver and punt return man. He already has 2 returns for scores.
