Very Early All SEC 2015

QB:  Dak Prescott – Mississippi State (6-2, 230) Haughton, Louisiana Sr: Prescott returns for his senior season after throwing for 3,449 yards and 27 Touchdowns and running for 986 yards and 14 Touchdowns. He was a leading Heisman candidate early on last season before his stock dropped with the media.

QB:  Maty Mauk – Missouri (6-1, 200) Kenton, Ohio Jr: The Tigers have been the surprise team of the SEC the last 2 seasons, but part of that is the weakness of the SEC East. Mauk didn’t have the numbers that a lot of Quarterbacks produced, but he was effective enough. He threw for 2,648 and 25 Touchdowns, plus he ran for 373 yards. Missouri lost a lot of talent this year, so Mauk will earn our respect this year.

RB: Derrek Henry – Alabama (6-3, 240) Yulee, Florida Jr: Henry split time with TJ Yeldon last year and still managed to run for 990 yards and 11 Touchdowns and he caught 5 passes for 2 more Touchdowns. Henry should have a big year in 2015 having more carries for himself.

RB: Leonard Fournette – LSU (6-1, 230) New Orleans, Louisiana Soph: One of the more hyped Running Backs to come around in a while and mostly lived up to billing.  Fournette rushed for 1,034 yards and 10 Touchdowns. He also returned kicks for the Tigers taking one back for a score and averaging 26.4 per return. The Tigers believe in playing a lot of Running Backs, but Fournette should crush 1,000 yards again in 2015.

RB: Nick Chubb – Georgia (5-10, 230) Cedartown, Georgia Soph: Chubb was one of the top Running Backs in the country as a true freshman a season ago. Big strong guy with sprinters speed and ran for 1,547 yards and 14 Touchdowns while filling in for super star Todd Gurley. Expect more of the same this season as the Bulldogs try to break in yet another new Quarterback.

WR: Pharoh Cooper – South Carolina (5-11, 200) Havelock, NC Jr: Cooper was the Gamecocks big play guy a year ago. He caught 69 passes in 2014 which was good for 1136 yards and 9 Touchdowns. He also ran for 200 yards and 2 more Touchdowns. He also returned punts.

WR: Duke Williams – Auburn (6-2, 215) LaPlace, Louisiana Sr: This guy is truly special and I can’t believe he is returning for his senior season. Big play guy with hands, size, speed and strength. Williams caught 45 passes for 730 yards and 5 Touchdowns.

WR: Josh Reynolds – Texas A%M (6-4, 190) San Antonio, Texas Jr: Reynolds was the Aggies’ big play guy last season scoring 13 Touchdowns on 52 receptions. The Aggies are loaded at Wide Receiver but Reynolds was their most reliable guy and could be better this season.

WR: De’Runnya Wilson – Mississippi State (6-5, 225) Birmingham, Alabama Jr: Big body Wide Receiver that is all the rage these days. Wilson caught 47 passes for 680 yards and 9 Touchdowns last season and is back for more. A former Mr Basketball in the state of Alabama that figured his future was brighter as a 6’5″ Wide Receiver than as a Power Forward on the basketball court.

TE: Hunter Henry – Arkansas (6-5, 250) Little Rock, Arkansas Jr: Figure this to be the last year that Henry plays for the Razorbacks before heading to the NFL. Big Tight End with good hands and athletic ability. He caught 37 passes as a sophomore and 2 Touchdowns.

TE: Steven Scheu – Vanderbilt (6-5, 250) Sr: The big senior from Evansville, Indiana led his team in receptions last year with 39 and 4 of those went for Touchdowns. He’s back for his last season and the Quarterback situation at Vanderbilt seems to have stabilized with the emergence of Johnny McCrary late in the season.

OT: Cam Robinson – Alabama (6-6, 325) Monroe, Louisiana Soph: Robinson is a unique type of player. He started from the moment he stepped on campus. Robinson will start this year and the next and be a top 5 pick in the NFL Draft. Cam Robinson is a special type of player.

OT: John Theus – Georgia (6-6, 315) Jacksonville, Florida Sr: Outside of Miami, Florida colleges should have recruiters camped out in Jacksonville and Tampa, Florida. Theus has started from the beginning of his time in Athens and is one of the top Tackles in the nation.

OT: Laremy Tunsil – Ole Miss (6-5, 305) Lake City, Florida Jr: Was the number one Offensive Tackle recruit coming out of high school a couple of years ago. Started from the first day like the other Tackles on this list. One of the top Tackles in the country and should declare for the NFL after the 2015 season and go fairly high.

OG: Denver Kirkland – Arkansas (6-5, 335) Miami, Florida Jr: Kirkland has been a star since he stepped on campus. He will probably declare for the NFL Draft after this season and move on, but he has been a rock up front for the Hogs. Massive human being that moves extremely well for his size.

OG: Vadal Alexander – LSU (6-6, 320) Buford, Georgia Sr: This road grader played Left Guard right next to outstanding Left Tackle La’el Collins. One of the top Offensive Guards in the SEC and in the entire nation.

OG: Rod Taylor – Ole Miss (6-3, 320) Jackson, Mississippi Soph: Played well as a true freshman and should be good enough in 2015 to be an All SEC Offensive Guard.

OC: Evan Boehm – Missouri (6-3, 315) Lee’s Summit, Missouri Sr: Nobody talks much about the Missouri Offensive Line, but they have quietly gotten the job done over the last 2 seasons and Boehm is one of their leaders. Probably the best Center in the SEC for next season.

DE: Myles Garrett – Texas A%M (6-5, 255) Arlington, Texas Soph: Garrett was an outstanding true freshman a year ago. Wound up with 53 total tackles and 14 of those for loss. Garrett also had 11.5 Quarterback sacks and another 10 Quarterback hurries. He also blocked 1 kick in between everything else.

DE: A’Shawn Robinson – Alabama (6-4, 320) Fort Worth, Texas Jr: The big junior from Texas had a great freshman season and then not quite as dominating as expected this past season. Robinson should have an outstanding junior season with hopes of moving up in the draft. Potentially as good as there is.

DE: Derek Barnett – Tennessee (6-3, 265) Nashville, Tennessee Soph: Fantastic true freshman last year that totaled 72 tackles and 20 tackles for loss. Plus, he sacked opposing Quarterbacks 10 times and hurried another 8 times. Barnett is one of the leaders of a resurgent Tennessee Volunteer football team.

DE: Lorenzo Carter – Georgia (6-6, 240) Norcross, Georgia Soph: Norcross, Georgia is another place that a college should have a full time recruiter living there. Carter played little at the beginning of the season but his playing time picked up as the season wore on. Carter has unlimited potential. As a freshman he had 41 total tackles and 4.5 Quarterback sacks as well as 11 more Quarterback hurries. Expect Carter to explode onto the scene this year.

DT: Robert Nkemdiche – Ole Miss (6-4, 280) Loganville, Georgia Jr: Nkemdiche had somewhat of a disappointing season as a sophomore but the potential is still so enormous and he should play big as a junior with his NFL future on the line. He totaled 35 tackles 4 tackles for loss and 2 Quarterback sacks a year ago. Nkemdiche always has to be considered by any offensive schemes.

DT: Jarran Reed – Alabama (6-4, 315) Goldsboro, NC Sr: Reed was a junior college transfer last season that stepped right in and played awesomely. Dominating defensive lineman that should be even better after a year of seasoning.

DT: Davon Godchaux – LSU (6-4, 300) Plaquemine, Louisiana Soph: Outstanding true freshman Defensive Tackle for the LSU Tigers last season. He finished with 42 total tackles and was especially good against the run.

LB: Kentrell Brothers – Missouri (6-1, 240) Guthrie, Oklahoma Sr: Tackling machine led his team with 122 total tackles last season. He also broke up 4 passes and caused 3 fumbles. Brothers is a very effective and productive Linebacker on a solid Missouri defense.

LB: Josh Forrest – Kentucky (6-3, 235) Paducah, Kentucky Sr: Forrest led the Wildcat defense in the best season they have had in a while and they should be better this season. Forrest had 110 tackles a year ago with 8.5 for losses and another Quarterback sack. Forrest also had 2 Interceptions with one going back the distance for a Touchdown.

LB: Antonio Morrison – Florida (6-1, 225) Bellwood, Illinois Sr: Aggressive Linebacker that led a really good Gator defense in tackles with 101 total. Morrison had 6 tackles for losses and a Quarterback sack to go along with an Interception and a fumble forced. Doesn’t have the size of some other SEC Linebackers, but he’s still one of the better ones in the league.

LB: Michael Scherer – Missouri (6-3, 235) St Louis, Mo. Jr: Scherer was right there with his teammate, Kentrell Brothers, with 114 total tackles. The Missouri Tiger defense seemed to gel as the season wore on.

LB: Reggie Ragland – Alabama (6-2, 255) Madison, Al. Sr: Giant Linebacker and one of the top tacklers on the Crimson Tide defense. Ragland had 93 tackles and 10.5 tackles for loss. Very

aggressive player that also had 1.5 sack and several Quarterback hurries, plus he forced a fumble and picked off a pass.

CB: Vernon Hargreaves III – Florida (5-11, 195) Tampa, Florida Jr: Will be a three year starter for the Gators this year and then he will no doubt declare for the NFL. Shut down Corner Back that everyone is looking for, but lacks that height that is needed to cover huge NFL Wide Receivers. Still a top player. He broke up 11 passes and picked off 3 passes.

CB: Cameron Sutton – Tennessee (6-1, 190) Jonesboro, Georgia Jr: Sutton totaled 37 tackles and picked off 3 passes. Most impressive stat was 13 passes defended. Sutton also returned punts and took one back for a score while averaging 11.29 per return.

CB: Cyrus Jones – Alabama (5-10, 195) Baltimore, Md. Sr: 44 tackles, 1 fumble return for a Touchdown, 3 interceptions, 13 passes broken up. Returned punts and Kick offs.

DB: Jamal Adams – LSU (6-0, 205) Carrolton, Texas Soph: This Texas product exploded onto the scene last season and told the world that he would be a top Defensive Back at a school that produces tons of them. He had 66 tackles and broke up 5 passes while sacking the Quarterback and making 5 tackles for loss.

DB: Torren McGaster – Vanderbilt (6-0, 190) Daphne, Alabama Jr: It was back to normal for Vanderbilt after losing James Franklin to Penn State, but McGaster was a bright spot for them. He totaled 66 tackles and picked off 2 passes while breaking up 5 more passes.
