Any Doubt that Alabama Was Still King of the SEC Was Just Removed

Let me just say that I like the SEC. But, I am not sold on it’s invincibility as some people are and the constant ‘SEC’ chanting is just odd ball and completely beyond weird to me.

Alabama will probably win the national championship this season. But, I am not sure the SEC East champion could win the Sun Belt Conference and I am only half joking.

Florida has clinched the East Division championship while other contenders Georgia, Tennessee and defending champion Missouri have disappointed.

On Saturday, November 20th, the SEC East Division Champion Florida Gators needed Overtime to beat 2-8 Florida Atlantic. Florida Atlantic dropped to 2-9 on it’s season, clearly not a worthy opponent for a Power 5 Conference member and especially not one that has won it’s division.

To make things even more embarrassing, the South Carolina  Gamecocks lost to The Citadel. Yes, that’s right, they lost to THE CITADEL! In internet speak, all capital letters mean yelling. I yelled THE CITADEL AND I SHOULD HAVE YELLED FLORIDA ATLANTIC!

Losing to teams of this caliber is akin to Iron Mike Tyson losing to his last two opponents before he retired, Danny Williams and Kevin McBride. They had no business being in the ring with Mike Tyson, just like The Citadel and Florida Atlantic had no business being on the field with SEC schools and especially this late in the season.

Big 10 also ran Indiana would have wiped the floor with either of these schools.

As something of an aspiring historian of the college football game, schools never played lower levels of programs back in the old days. College football was the most popular game in town in those old days, and the NFL was a far distant second. Now, the NFL has taken over with college football fighting for leftovers.

I don’t think FBS teams should be allowed to play an FCS school now, or ever. For the record, Florida Atlantic is not an FCS school, but they are terrible.
Also, it is a medicine falling on a costlier side with harmful effects in the long run too; though, they can be tackled with followed medical guidance. unica-web.com acquisition de viagra Both have similar effects, but cheap cheap viagra are distinct in appearance. Casual football fans are going to watch the Ohio State versus Michigan games, or Alabama versus LSU. Casual football fans are not going to watch Alabama versus Charleston Southern. I am a

hardcore fan that wants to watch every game, and I do not care to watch Alabama rough up some school that I have never really seen play before. It’s just not interesting unless you are the parent of a back up player and you get to see your child play for one of the few times all season.

I understand the reasoning behind these games. The SEC schools get some of their starters some rest and the back ups get some playing time. But, since playing these sub standard games do little for the television ratings, why not just play one less regular season game and then add more teams to the playoffs?

If college football is supposed to compete with the NFL, then add 8 teams to the playoffs and see what happens.

We’d all much rather watch extra playoff games than South Carolina versus The Citadel.

But, considering what we saw out of Florida today, we can only all assume that Alabama will win the SEC Championship game by a landslide.

Just think, a few short weeks ago the media was speaking and writing of the Alabama dynasty being over and it appears that they are about to win yet another SEC football championship.
