Thursday Night September 15th
Houston 2-0 at Cincinnati 2-0: This game will be entertaining to say the least. Houston is favored by 7.5 points, but don’t overlook the Bearcats of Cincinnati and head coach Tommy Tuberville.
Saturday September 17th
Florida State 2-0 at Louisville 2-0: At the beginning of the year, people were talking about Clemson and Florida State in the ACC, but Louisville is going to be a tough out for anyone with Quarterback Lamar Jackson. The Seminoles have their own talented Quarterback in Deondre Francois. Florida State is favored by 2, but I don’t feel comfortable with that. The second half of the Ole Miss game
Seminoles might beat Louisville, but they are going to have to outscore them.
Alabama 2-0 at Ole Miss 1-1: Ole Miss has beaten Alabama 2 years in a row. But, this time the Crimson Tide is the favorite by 10.5 points and the way they are looking they will probably cover and then some. They will be out for blood.
Colorado 2-0 at Michigan 2-0: An undefeated Colorado comes into the Big House to take on the big boys of Michigan. They are not in the same league as Michigan, but they are improved and they will sling that football around. Wolverines are 20 favorites, but what’s surprising is you would think that Michigan would have the nation’s number 1 defense. But, right now, shockingly Colorado is number 1 in total defense, plus they are in the top 10 in total offense.
Michigan will do horrible things to those stats while they win by at least 21.
Oregon 2-0 at Nebraska 2-0: Odds makers have the Cornhuskers favored by 3 points. Husker coach Mike Riley knows all about the Oregon Ducks from his days as the main man at Oregon State. The Duck’s head coach Mark Helfrich hired former Michigan coach Brady Hoke to be his Defensive Coordinator and the results have not improved just yet. I think they will, but it’s going to take some time. I think Oregon wins in something of a shootout.
Texas A%M 2-0 at Auburn 1-1: The Tigers are favored by 3.5 points at home, but this game can be crazy. Auburn lost a tough game to Clemson and the Aggies beat an always strange UCLA team in Overtime. Usually the one you don’t expect to win will take this game, but I think Auburn probably gets a W at home.
Mississippi State 1-1 at LSU 1-1: 2 teams off to disappointing starts. The Bulldogs of Miss State
were probably expected to be less good, but not to lose to South Alabama. Dan Mullen finally decided on a Quarterback and Nick Fitzgerald played pretty well against South Carolina. LSU has had their own Quarterback issues. LSU coach Les Miles might go to Purdue transfer Danny Etling and Tiger fans have given up on Brandon Harris.
LSU is favored by 14 and they more than likely romp if they can get their offense going.
Michigan State 1-0 at Notre Dame 1-1: These schools played 17 years in a row before taking a couple of seasons off after the 2013 game. Notre Dame leads the all time series 48-28-1 and the Fighting Irish are favored by 8 points. The Spartans have only played one game and they struggled somewhat against Furman. Notre Dame probably wins a tight game.

Georgia 2-0 at Missouri 1-1: The unbeaten Bulldogs of Georgia are favored by 6.5 points. They beat North Carolina in game one, but they were not impressive last week against Nicholls State. Missouri lost their opener against West Virginia and then looked really good against Eastern Michigan last week in a big win. Some questionable calls favored Georgia in week one and I am picking Missouri.
Ohio State 2-0 at Oklahoma 1-1: The Buckeyes of Ohio State are favored by 1.5 points in Norman, Oklahoma. Ohio State is unbeaten, but their offense has been inconsistent so far. They played 2 weaker teams, have they been playing opossum? The Sooners are at home and they know they can’t
absorb another loss if they have any hopes of returning to the playoffs.
I think the Buckeyes have the better athletes and they could win this game.
USC 1-1 at Stanford 1-0: Stanford is favored by 8.5 points at home. The USC Trojans have some talented athletes, but coaching is questionable and they were beaten to a bloody pulp by Alabama in week 1. They were impressive in week 2 against Utah State.
Stanford dominated USC in 2 games last year, but they took some heavy losses off of last year’s Pac 12 champions. Stanford is much better coached and they still have Heisman hopeful Christian McCaffrey. I think McCaffrey runs wild and Stanford does cover. But, if USC were to get their stuff together, they will grab the Pac 12 back.
Texas 2-0 at California 1-1: The Longhorns of Texas are favored by 8 points and they are highly improved from last season. It’s doubtful that they an completely stop the Cal offense with Texas Tech transfer Davis Webb at Quarterback. Webb knows Texas from his days at Texas Tech. The Texas offense should be too much for the Golden Bear defense and the Horns should be able to slow down the Cal defense enough to cover the points. Texas is really young on both sides of the ball, but they are talented youths
Temple 1-1 at Penn State 1-1: Temple beat Penn State for the first time in decades last year and this will be payback by the Nittany Lions who are favored by 9 points. The Nittany Lions showed a lot of heart while fighting back against Pittsburgh last week. Penn State should win and cover.
Vanderbilt 1-1 at Georgia Tech 2-0: The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets are favored by 6.5 points.
The Commodores of Vanderbilt do have a good defense, but Jacket Quarterback Justin Thomas can work some magic as a Flexbone Quarterback. Expect the Jackets to win and cover the spread.
Pittsburgh 2-0 at Oklahoma State 1-1: Oklahoma State was robbed last week on a terrible call by the refs. They are favored by 6 as the unbeaten Pittsburgh Panthers come to town. The Cowboys in recent years have been inconsistent in recent years, but I think they get beaten by the Panthers.
Boston College 1-1 at Virginia Tech 1-1: Boston College is improved offensively over last season but they still lost in their opener in Dublin, Ireland against Georgia Tech. They beat UMass in game 2 and they still play good defense. Virginia Tech is favored by 5.5 points after their disappointing loss last week at Bristol. The Hokies probably win, but they will struggle more than likely.
Western Michigan 2-0 at Illinois 1-1: Western Michigan is favored by 3 over Lovie Smith’s Fighting Illini. But, I think the Big 10 team beats the MAC.
Maryland 2-0 at Central Florida 1-1: Maryland is unbeaten and they are flavored by 8.5 points. But, Scott Frost said his team outhit Michigan last week in spite of the lopsided score. I think the Knights of UCF surprise the Terrapins and upset them.
