1. Bucky Hodges – Virginia Tech (6-6, 245) Virginia Beach, Virginia. Soph: A former Quarterback, Hodges made the move to Tight End really easily. As a freshman in 2014, Hodges caught 45 passes for 526 yards and 7 Touchdowns.Virginia Tech had a great start in 2014 beating National Champions Ohio State, but then they fell apart. Hodges was solid all season in spite of the rest of the offense. Hodges redshirted in 2013 and then was a freshman last season and more than likely declares for the NFL Draft after this season.
2. Hunter Henry – Arkansas (6-5, 250) Little Rock, Arkansas. Jr: Henry is a great receiving Tight End with 37 receptions a year ago and 2 Touchdowns. Going into his junior season, Henry will be a 3 year starter with 65 catches. In 2014, the Razorbacks also had former Quarterback AJ Derby at Tight End and he added another 22 receptions. Derby was a senior, which more than likely means increased production for Henry.
3. O.J. Howard – Alabama (6-6, 240) Prattville, Alabama. Jr: Little used but extremely talented Tight End. Howard had 17 receptions in 2014 for 260 yards. As a freshman in 2013, Howard caught 14 passes with 2 going for Touchdowns. Howard is a tall Tight End with great speed and will probably do better on the next level than at Alabama.

   

4. Jake Butt – Michigan (6-6, 250) Pickerington, Ohio. Jr: Butt was injured last season and he took a while to recover, but after a slow start he came on strong at the end and had 21 receptions. His catches only added up to 211 yards and 2 Touchdowns, but the Wolverines had problems across the offensive board last year. The addition of Jim Harbaugh as head coach should benefit top players like Jake Butt.
5. Austin Hooper – Stanford (6-4, 250) San Ramon, California. Jr:  Stanford usually has a good Tight End in the same tradition of a Notre Dame. Hooper runs really well and has good hands with 40 catches in 2014. His catches totaled 499 yards and 2 Touchdowns. Stanford is loaded at Tight End with Hooper, Greg Taboada and Eric Cotton so Hooper’s production may not increase much in 2015.
6. Josiah Price – Michigan State  (6-4, 250) Greentown, Indiana. Jr: Price was a part of possibly the best offense in the history of Michigan State football history. A good blocker and dependable receiver for Spartan Quarterback Conner Cook, Price caught 26 passes for 374 yards and 6 Touchdowns. Big target with good hands, the return of Conner Cook bodes well for the 2015 season for Price.
7. Nick Vannett – Ohio State (6-6, 260) Westerville, Ohio. Sr: Vannett has the size that NFL teams covet. He’s an outstanding blocker and even though he doesn’t have great speed he is a solid receiver for the Tight End position. The Buckeyes didn’t throw to their Tight Ends all that much, but Vannett had 19 receptions for 220 yards and 5 Touchdowns and the Ohio State other Tight End Jeff Heuerman had 17 catches.

   

8. Jeb Blazevich – Georgia (6-5, 235) Charlotte, North Carolina. Soph: The 2014 season produced a lot of outstanding talents and Blazevich was another outstanding freshman last year. Blazevich took over the starting role midway through the season. Clearly, with the Bulldog run game as excellent as it is, Blazevich is a good blocker. He is also a good receiver, but only had 18 receptions in his first season which he turned into 269 yards and 2 Touchdowns.
9. Ethan Wolf – Tennessee (6-5, 240) Minster, Ohio. Soph: The Volunteers have gone out and recruited a bunch of talent and Wolf was one of their better freshmen last year. Wolf only caught 23 passes in 2014 for 212 yards and no Touchdowns. Wolf was so good, however, that fellow true freshman Tight End Daniel Helm decided to transfer.
10. Jake Duzey – Iowa (6-4, 245) Troy, Michigan. Sr: Duzey was one of the more productive Tight Ends in the country last season. Duzey caught 36 passes which went for 392 yards and 3 Touchdowns. Duzey has very good speed and took one reception about 80 yards for a score. A good blocker with good speed.
11. Jerrell Adams – South Carolina (6-6, 245) Pinewood, South Carolina. Sr: Adams and his fellow Tight End Rory Anderson looked like twins and between the two of them they caught 43 passes in 2014. Adams caught 21 passes for 279 yards and a Touchdown. Anderson was a senior last season and now Adams has the job to himself which in itself should improve his production.
12. Durham Smythe – Notre Dame (6-4, 245) Belton, Texas. Soph: Notre Dame always has a good Tight End. They just lost Ben Koyack to the NFL and Smythe or Tyler Luatua or Mike Heuerman could be the next great Fighting Irish Tight End. Smythe only caught one pass for a grand total of 7 yards. Beyond that, Smythe was a super talented high school Tight End that has outstanding potential to produce for the Irish and I believe he will in 2015.
13. Mike Gesicki – Penn State (6-6, 235) Manahawkin, New Jersey. Soph: How Mike Gesicki was rated a 3 star recruit is beyond me. This kid has the potential to be all world. Excellent size,

    

    speed and hands, this guy could be the next big Tight End if given the opportunity. Tremendous athlete on the basketball court making highlight reel slam dunks. Gesicki only caught 11 passes as a true freshman, but Penn State had a rough season on offense and they also had Junior Tight End Jessie James. James left for the NFL and Gesicki should step up.

14. Steven Scheu – Vanderbilt (6-5, 250) Evansville, Indiana. Sr: Scheu was one of the top Tight Ends in the SEC last season and caught 39 passes last season for 525 yards and 4 Touchdowns. Scheu started some games during his freshman and sophomore season and started every game last season and was All SEC.
15. Evan Engram – Ole Miss (6-3, 230) Powder Springs, Georgia. Jr: Engram is more of an H-Back instead of a standard Tight End and is a bit undersized for the Tight End position. In 2014, Engram caught 38 passes for 662 yards and 2 Touchdowns.
