QB: JT Barrett – Ohio State (6-1, 225) Wichita Falls, Texas. Soph: Barrett should be All Big 10 Quarterback if he can beat out Cardale Jones and Braxton Miller. The winner of this Quarterback competition will be all conference.

QB: Connor Cook – Michigan State (6-4, 220) Hinckley, Ohio. Sr: Surprisingly, Connor Cook decided to return to Michigan State for his senior season and he really needed it. Cook was awful at the beginning of 2013 but improved as the season advanced and led his team to the Rose Bowl. In 2014, Cook was even better throwing for 3,214 yards and 24 Touchdowns and led his team to a

Cotton Bowl come from behind win over Baylor. Michigan State has become a hot bed for producing NFL Quarterbacks lately.

RB: Ezekiel Elliott – Ohio State (6-0, 225) St Louis, Missouri. Jr: Big, strong and fast Running Back that helped lead his team to the national championship in 2014. Elliott ran for 1,878 yards and 19 Touchdowns last season. He is also a good blocker and a good receiver out of the backfield proven by his 28 receptions for 220 yards. Elliott could be the best Running Back in the country for next season.

RB: Corey Clement – Wisconsin (5-11, 215) Glassboro, New Jersey. Jr: Melvin Gordon’s back up is a good back in his own right. He is big and he is plenty fast, plus he’s a good receiver. If you saw the Wisconsin bowl win over Auburn you would have seen he can fly. Last season as a back up, Clement rushed for 949 yards at 6.46 yards per carry and 9 Touchdowns. Clement caught 14 passes for another 119 yards and 2 more Touchdowns. With Gordon out of the way, Clement will have a big year in 2015.

RB: Justin Jackson – Northwestern (5-11, 185) Carol Stream, Illinois. Soph: True freshman Justin Jackson burst onto the scene last season and ran for 1,187 yards and 9 Touchdowns. Jackson also caught 22 passes for 201 yards and another Touchdown. Jackson was a 4 star Running Back coming out of high school and Northwestern won the recruiting battle for his services and it paid off for them.

WR: Leonte Carroo – Rutgers (6-1, 205) Edison, New Jersey. Sr: Rutgers big play guy Carroo caught 55 passes in 2014 which went for 1,086 and 10 touchdowns. Carroo played high school football at the famous Don Bosco Prep and was a sprinter on the track team. Carroo can still pick them up and put them down.

WR: DaeSean Hamilton – Penn State (6-1, 205) Fredericksburg, Virginia. Soph: It’s time to start taking the Big 10 more seriously on the national scene and Hamilton is one of the many reasons. Hamilton redshirted in 2013 and was a freshman in 2014. He hauled in 82 passes for 899 yards and 2 Touchdowns. The Nittany Lions return all of their receivers and should be highly improved in 2015.

WR: Mike Dudek – Illinois (5-11, 185) Naperville, Illinois. Soph: Dudek was another true freshman that shined last season in the Big 10 and across the country. He was not a highly recruited guy and came in as a 3 star recruit. Dudek hauled in 76 passes for 1,038 yards and 6 Touchdowns.

TE: Josiah Price – Michigan State (6-4, 250) Greentown, Indiana. Jr: Price will be in his 3rd year as a starter in 2015. He was a good and reliable receiver for Connor Cook last season while catching 26 passes for 374 yards and 6 Touchdowns. Good blocker as well as receiver.

OT: Taylor Decker – Ohio State (6-7, 315) Vandalia, Ohio. Sr: Decker started at Right Tackle for 2 years and he was the only returning starter in 2014 up front. Decker moved to Left Tackle and played impressively. The entire Buckeye Offensive Line clearly played well.

 

OT: Jack Conklin – Michigan State (6-6, 305) Plainwell, Michigan, Jr: He was an unranked recruit coming out of high school that will be going into his 3rd season as a starter. Conklin does not give up many sacks and moves so well laterally with quick feet. Conklin is a huge success story.

OT: Tyler Marz – Wisconsin (6-5, 320) Springfield, Minnesota. Sr: The Badgers Offensive Line opened holes for one of the best rushing performances of all time with Melvin Gordon and his 2,587 yards and  29 Touchdowns. The Badgers were huge and powerful up front. Marz was one of their better players along with fellow Tackle Rob Havenstein.

OT: Jason Spriggs – Indiana (6-7, 300) Elkhart, Indiana. Sr: Will be a 4 year starter at Left Tackle for the Hoosiers, who in spite of having no passing game for part of the 2014 season, still had a 2000+ yards Running Back in Tevin Coleman. Spriggs allowed just 2 sacks all year as a junior and 1 of those was against Missouri’s top sack man, Shane Ray.

OG: Pat Elfein – Ohio State (6-3, 300) Pickerington, Ohio. Jr: Elfein at Right Guard and Billy Price at Left Guard came up big for the Ohio State Buckeyes in 2014. Elfein is great in pass protection and better in the run game.

OG: Dan Feeney – Indiana (6-4, 305) Orland Park, Illinois Jr: Weight room phenom and has given up but one sack during 24 starts. Feeney was Honorable Mention All Big 10 in 2014 and has worked his way up to 1st team. He helped paved the way for Indiana Running Back Tevin Coleman to have an amazing season with over 2,000 yards rushing.Watch his film, the guy is a player.

OC: Jack Allen – Michigan State (6-2, 300) Hinsdalle, Illinois Sr: Named 1st team All American in 2014, there’s no reason to believe he will get any worse in 2015. Allen led the Offensive Line to block for the best Michigan State offensive unit of all time in 2014. Will be a four year starter/player this next season. Allen was a state champion wrestler in high school.

OC: Austin Blythe – Iowa  (6-3, 290) Williamsburg, Iowa. Sr: A former high school champion wrestler that will be in his 3rd season as a starter up front for the Hawkeyes. Was moved from Guard to Center in the Spring of 2013 and started at Center since then. Blythe was pressed into filling in at both Guard positions in 2014 due to injury. With the loss of Brandon Scherff and Andrew Dorral up front, the Hawkeyes best Offensive Lineman will be Blythe.

He also forced 4 fumbles, had a fumble return for a Touchdown, hurried the Quarterback another 4 times and broke up a pass.

DE: Shilique Calhoun – Michigan State (6-5, 255) Middletown, New Jersey. Sr: Shockingly, Calhoun elected to come back for his senior season at Michigan State. Calhoun had a really fantastic sophomore season where he was in the limelight with 3 touches on defense which all resulted in him scoring a Touchdown. 2014 was much quieter, but he still had 8 Quarterback sacks and 12.5 tackles for loss. Calhoun is a very quick and aggressive Defensive End coming off the edge.

DE: Kemoko Durray – Rutgers (6-6, 235) Newark, New Jersey. Soph. Durray was only a part time player last season as a redshirt freshman but was very productive and this guy is dripping with potential. He only had 26 total tackles, but he had 8.5 tackles for loss and 7.5 Quarterback sacks. Even more impressively, he had 4 Quarterback hurries and 3 blocked kicks. I think this guy is going to be a big star for Rutgers and soon.

DE: Drew Ott – Iowa (6-4, 270)  Trumbull, Nebraska. Sr: How did the Huskers let this guy get out of the state? Really productive Defensive End for the Hawkeyes with 57 total tackles, 12 tackles for loss and 7.5 Quarterback sacks. He had another 7 Quarterback hurries and picked off 1 pass in 2014. Ott will be a 3 year starter at End.

DT: Anthony Zettel – Penn State (6-4, 275) West Branch, Michigan. Sr: Zettel was a play maker up front for the Nittany Lions last season. What other Defensive Tackle had 3 Interceptions with 1 of them going for a Touchdowns. Zettel totaled 42 tackles with 17 tackles for loss and 8 quarterback sacks. He also broke up 5 passes. Zettel was one of the more productive tackles in the country last season.

DT: Maliek Collins – Nebraska (6-2, 300) Kansas City, Missouri. Jr: Strong Defensive Tackle for the Cornhuskers. Collins totaled 45 tackles in 2014. He had 10.5 tackles for loss and 4.5 Quarterback sacks. He had another 10 Quarterback hurries.

DT: Austin Johnson – Penn State (6-4, 315) Galloway, New Jersey. Jr. Johnson is yet another standout in the defensive front for the Nittany Lions. He totaled 49 tackles with 6 tackles for loss and 1 Quarterback sack. Johnson is really strong against the run and not the pass rusher like Zettel.

DT: Jihad Ward – Illinois (6-6, 295)  Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Sr: Not sure why he has the name Jihad, but that’s kind of the way he plays the game of football. A junior college transfer last season with one year remaining, Ward had 51 tackles. Plus, he had 8.5 tackles for loss, 3 Quarterback sacks and 2 fumble returns. He had 5 more Quarterback hurries, 2 fumbles forced and a pass broken up.

LB: Joshua Perry – Ohio State (6-4, 255) Galena, Ohio. Sr: Perry led his team in tackles in 2014

and decided to come back for his senior year. Perry was all over the field totaling 124 tackles with 8.5 of those for losses and he had 3 Quarterback sacks. Perry should lead his team to another Big 10 Championship and another possible playoff berth in 2014.

LB: Steve Longa – Rutgers (6-1, 225) Saddle Brook, New Jersey. Jr: Redshirted as a freshman in 2012, but led the team in tackles in 2013 at Middle Linebacker. Longa moved to Weakside Linebacker as a sophomore and led the team in tackles yet again. He has been Rutgers most consistent player on defense the last 2 seasons and should provide the same security again in 2015.

LB: Vince Biegel – Wisconsin (6-4, 245) Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin. Jr: Biegel was a force from Outside Linebacker in 2014. He totaled 56 tackles which is not overly impressive, but he had 16.5 tackles for loss. He also had 7.5 Quarterback sacks and had 4 more hurries. He broke up another 2 passes and forced 2 fumbles.

LB: Mason Monheim – Illinois (6-1, 235) Orrville, Ohio. Sr: Very productive Linebacker for the Fighting Illini. He led the team in tackles with 111 in 2014, and had 6.5 tackles for loss and a Quarterback sack. Monheim also forced 4 fumbles, had 2 Interceptions and returned 1 for a Touchdown. Good Linebacker.

LB: Darron Lee – Ohio State (6-2, 230) New Albany, Ohio. Soph: Lee was a huge and pleasant surprise for the Buckeyes as a freshman, but yet another member of the Buckeye class of 2013. Lee was really good all season long with 81 tackles, with 16.5 for loss and 7.5 Quarterback sacks. Darron Lee also had 2 Interceptions and 2 fumble returns resulting in 2 Touchdowns. Lee will do nothing but get better and better.

CB: William Likely – Maryland (5-7, 175) Belle Glade, Florida. Jr: Extremely short on size, but makes up for it with talent and quickness. The little Cornerback had 6 Interceptions to lead the Big 10 Conference, and he took 2 of those back for scores. Likely had 83 total tackles, 4 tackles for loss, 9 passes broken up and a fumble forced. Likely was special in returns, as well. He had 19 punt returns and averaged over 11 per return with 1 Touchdown. He averaged 31 yards per kick return which is outstanding and had another Touchdown. Lack of size is made up for with lots of heart.

CB: Eli Apple – Ohio State (6-1, 200) Voorhees, New Jersey, Soph. Apple might be the next big thing at Cornerback. He has that length that everyone wants these days. He had 53 tackles last season with 5.5 for loss. He had 3 Interceptions and 1 fumble recovery for a score, plus he had 10 pass break ups. Apple is yet another member of the magnificent class of 2013 for the Buckeyes.

CB: Briean Boddy-Calhoun – Minnesota (5-11, 190) Wilmington, Delaware. Sr: He was an unheralded player from Minnesota with 5 Interceptions in 2014. Boddy-Calhoun also had 51 tackles  with 2 of those for loss and 9 passes broken up. He had a fumble return and 2 fumbles forced to be a bright spot for the Gopher defense.

DB: Nate Gerry – Nebraska (6-2, 205) Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Jr: Gerry is a surprisingly good player at Safety for the Huskers. He had 88 tackles last season. His most impressive stat was 5 Interceptions a year ago. Gerry also had a fumble return, 4.5 tackles for loss, 4 passes broken up and 2 fumbles forced. Gerry has excellent speed and athletic ability.

DB: Vonn Bell – Ohio State (5-11, 200) Rossville, Georgia. Jr: Bell was second on the Buckeye team in tackles behind Linebacker Joshua Perry with 92. Bell also had 6 interceptions and another 6 passes broken up. He had 2 tackles for loss and another Quarterback sack. Bell will be a 3 year starter this season and declare for the NFL.

DB: Sean Davis – Maryland (6-1, 200) Washington, DC. Sr: Davis is another solid player in the secondary for the Terrapins. He totaled an impressive 115 total tackles with 4 tackles for loss and a Quarterback sack. Davis also broke up 8 passes and forced a fumble.

DB: Michael Caputo – Wisconsin (6-1, 210) Imperial, Pennsylvania. Sr: This guy has been a solid player for the Badgers the last 2 seasons and will be a 3 year starter in 2015. Caputo led the team in tackles with 106 in 2014. He was impressive also with 6 tackles for loss and 1 Quarterback sack. He broke up 6 passes, had 2 fumbles forced and he had a 27 yard return on an Interception.
