1. Jameis Winston – Florida State: Showed a lot of heart in leading his team to a victory over a surprisingly tough Oklahoma State team that nobody thought had a chance against the Seminoles. Winston threw for 370 yards on 25 completions on 40 attempts and had 1 TD and 2 Interceptions. He ran for only 9 yards on 5 carries but sacks took away from a Sports Center Highlight run where he ran through seemingly every Oklahoma State defender for a 28 yard TD. Maybe not the best of nights for Winston and the Seminoles but the TD run was enough to keep him the front runner.
2. Marcus Mariota – Oregon: Cakewalk for his team in week one with South Dakota coming to town. Next week Mariota and the Ducks will be challenged by the Michigan State Spartans who still have one of the top defenses in the country.
Mariota had 267 yards passing on 14/20 and 3 TDs. He also had 43 yards rushing on 6 carries and another TD.
3. Brett Hundley – UCLA: Hundley had a bit of a rough week but it was mostly out of his control as his Offensive Line got hammered by a surprisingly stout defense at Virginia. Hundley hit 20 out of 33 passes for 242 yards and no touchdowns. He had 39 yards rushing on 15 carries which is not that bad considering how much he was running for his very life. UCLA prevailed 28-20 based entirely on their defense scoring 3 TDs off of turnovers.
4. Todd Gurley – Georgia: The great Todd Gurley made a major move on Saturday and no doubt established himself even better as the top Running Back in the country with 198 yards rushing on 15 carries and 3 TDs. Gurley also had a Kick Off return of 100 yards and he’s moving way up on the
Heisman watch list.
5. TJ Yeldon – Alabama: Yeldon had 126 yards on 23 carries and 2 TDs. Averaged 5.5 yards per carry while sharing RB duties with Derrick Henry.
6. Nick Marshall – Auburn: Suspended for 1st half of game versus Arkansas. Second half was suspended due to lightening. Marshall only had 50 yards passing on 4 completions on 6 attempts. He rushed for only 19 yards on 8 carries with 1 TD. This set back may have taken him out of the Heisman race if he was ever actually in it.
7. Bryce Petty – Baylor: Baylor won 45-0 and it was over in the 1st quarter, so Petty didn’t have the best of stats. He was 13/23 for 161 yards and 2 TDs. Plus, he ran twice for 21 yards and 2 more TDs. Turns out he injured his back in the 1st half.

11. Melvin Gordon – Wisconsin: Gordon rushed for 140 yards on 16 carries for an 8.8 YPC and had a 63 yard run. Gordon also had a 14 yard TD run. He averaged 8.08 YPC on the season last year so doing something similar against one of the traditionally toughest defenses in the country was impressive.
12. Duke Johnson – Miami: 20 carries for 90 yards in Monday’s beating at the hands of Louisville.
13. Mike Davis – South Carolina: 6 carries for 15 yards in his first game just about does it for Mike Davis.

16. Kenny Hill – Texas A&M: Kenny Hill exploded onto the scene on Thursday night as his Aggies demolished the South Carolina Gamecocks. Johnny who?
