I’m not concerned with what fans of LaBron James think, Michael Jordan was the greatest basketball player of all time. I am not a fan of the NBA, but I do know that Jordan won every championship series and never lost.
When somebody says Michael Jordan, most anyone would know exactly who they were talking about.
If you were fortunate enough to have been named a name like Michael Jordan by your parents, people are always going to do a double take when your name comes up.
In the Big 10 recruiting wars, Ohio is basically the center of the universe. Florida, Texas and California have the most and maybe the best recruits. But, a few other states are right there with them as far as producing talent. Louisiana, Georgia, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Ohio are all rich talent producing areas.
Most of the Big 10 areas tend to rely on Ohio talent.
Ohio State often lands their home state’s best players and they recruit nationally in states with top talents like Florida, Georgia, Louisiana and Texas. But, wherever top talent is, you can expect to find Ohio State coach Urban Meyer and assistants recruiting their hearts out. But, they don’t always travel south for their out of state talent. Outside of Pennsylvania, they also hit up Michigan.
Starting Running Back Mike Weber is a redshirt freshman from Detroit. Cornerback Damon Webb is from the same high school as Weber, Detroit Cass Tech, which puts out a lot of talent.
The state of Ohio is not the only state with a city named Canton, although it is the only one with the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Michigan also has a Canton and it produced a recent outstanding Offensive Lineman prospect. Most of the time, a Michigan high school football prospect will go to Michigan, or Michigan State. That’s definitely not always the case with Michigan high school prospects ending up at other programs occasionally across the nation.
The Michigan Wolverines have made a living out of recruiting the state of Ohio going back to the beginnings of college football.

The ESPN recruiting rankings had Michael Jordan rated as their 16th best Offensive Tackle prospect in the country and a 4 star. Ranked ahead of him are such stars as Greg Little that signed with Ole Miss, Jonah Williams of Alabama, Ben Bredeson of Michigan, and Landon Dickerson of Florida State. All of those guys are either starting, or about to start.

People questioned Ohio State’s offense, and their defense didn’t show much while running vanilla schemes. But, what do you need to show when you are winning games easily in a base defense.
Ohio State came out and showed they are for real when they pounded Oklahoma on their home turf, 45-24. The Buckeyes rebuilt Offensive Line proved to be a team strength as redshirt freshman Running Back Mike Weber ran for 123 yards and junior Curtis Samuel ran for 98 yards at nearly 9 yards per carry.
Even though he was sacked once, Quarterback JT Barrett still ran for 74 yards. The team ran for 291 yards which is going to make any Offensive Line look good.
Barrett only threw for 152 yards, but he threw for 4 Touchdowns.
True freshman Michael Jordan passed his first real test as a college football player and he passed with flying colors. Jordan is more than likely a future All American Offensive Guard and at 6-7, 310 he may have a nice future in the NFL.
Ohio State is definitely a college football team with a lot of talent and they could be a threat to win it all in 2016.
