All Pac 12 Super Early 2015

QB: Cody Kessler – USC (6-1, 210) Bakersfield, Ca. Sr: Kessler improved dramatically last season throwing for 3,826 yards and 39 Touchdowns. He returns for his senior season and the Trojans are going to be ranked pretty high going in. The Trojans lost some talent, but they have plenty more on their roster and more coming in their recruiting class. Kessler should have a huge senior season and might go over the 4,000 yardage marker in 2015. cody kessler

QB: Jared Goff – California (6-4, 210) Novato, Ca. Jr: Goff enters his junior season with 2 years under his belt already. As a sophomore Goff threw for 3,973 yards and 35 Touchdowns. Goff filled out a little on his tall skinny frame in his second season and needs to fill out a bit more. Goff almost doubled his Touchdown throws from year to year and cut down on his Interceptions. 2015 should be a great year for Goff and for his team as they qualify for a bowl game.

RB: Paul Perkins – UCLA (5-11, 198) Queen Creek, Az. Jr: The speedy Perkins led the Pac 12 in rushing in 2014 with 1,575 yards and 9 Touchdowns. Perkins was also a good receiver out of the back field catching 26 passes for 201 yards and another 2 Touchdowns. Plus, he is talented at picking up blitzes.

RB: Devontae Booker – Utah (5-11, 205) Sacramento, Ca. Sr: Behind Paul Perkins on the Pac 12 rushing lists was Booker with 1,512 and 10 Touchdowns rushing. Booker was an outstanding receiver out of the backfield with 42 receptions for 311 yards and 2 more Touchdowns.

RB: Nick Wilson – Arizona (5-10, 200) Sacramento, Ca. Soph: Wilson was a pleasant surprise for the Arizona Wildcats coming out of seemingly nowhere to rush for 1,375 yards and 16 Touchdowns. Wilson was also recruited by the Wildcats track and field program to run sprints so he has some serious breakaway speed.

RB: Royce Freeman – Oregon (6-0, 230) Imperial, Ca. Soph:  The other super freshman from the Pac 12 last season was Royce Freeman. He led the Ducks in rushing last season with 1,365 and 18 Touchdowns while averaging 5.42 yards per carry.  Freeman is also a good receiver out of the backfield. Without Heisman winner Marcus Mariota next season, Freeman will need to pick up the slack.

RB: D.J. Foster – Arizona State (5-11, 205) Scottsdale, Az. Sr: I realize my all conference list has a lot of Running Backs, but there’s no way I am leaving Foster off of this list. His combination of rushing yardage and receptions has to place him on any all conference list. Foster ran for 1,081 yards and 9 Touchdowns while averaging 5.57 yards per carry. As a receiver out of the backfield, Foster had 62 receptions for 688 yards and 3 Touchdowns.

WR: Cayleb Jones – Arizona  (6-3, 215) Austin, Tx Jr: Texas transfer Jones had a big year for Arizona and caught 73 passes for 1,019 yards and 9 Touchdowns. Jones is a big, strong receiver and the son of former Dallas Cowboy Middle Linebacker Robert Jones.

WR: Jordan Peyton – UCLA (6-1, 215) Santa Monica, Ca. Sr: Peyton was the Bruins best Wide Receiver last season with 67 receptions for 954 yards and 7 touchdowns. It will be interesting to see who wins the Quarterback job for next season, but whoever it is has Peyton to throw to in 2015. He’s another good sized Receiver with good speed and hands.

WR: JuJu Smith – USC (6-2, 210) Long Beach, Ca. Soph: Smith was one of several super freshmen on the USC Trojan team last season. Smith was the Trojans second best weapon behind Nelson Agholor and had 54 receptions for 724 yards and 5 Touchdowns. JuJu Smith should be Cody Kessler’s most dangerous target in 2015.

WR: River Cracraft – Washington State (6-0, 200) Trabuco Canyon, Ca. Jr: Very productive and reliable receiver for whichever Washington Cougar Quarterback is in the game. Cracraft hauled in 66 passes for 771 yards and 8 Touchdowns.

TE: Austin Hooper – Stanford (6-4, 250) San Ramon, Ca. Jr: Hooper is Stanford’s latest Tight End and he hauled in 40 receptions for 499 yards for 2 Touchdowns. At Stanford, a Tight End has to be a good blocker as well, and Hooper is that.

OT: Caleb Benenoch – UCLA (6-5, 305) Katy, Tx. Jr: Started as a true freshman in 2013, and then all 13 games for the Bruins in 2014. Benenoch was Honorable Mention All Pac 12 last season. The UCLA Offensive Line has had it’s struggles of late due to youth and inexperience, but they came on strong as the season wore on and they paved the way for Paul Perkins to lead the Pac 12 in rushing.

OT: Kyle Murphy – Stanford (6-7, 300) San Clemente, Ca. Sr: Stanford Cardinal Right Tackle a year ago and made 2nd team All Pac 12. Murphy was a former 5 star recruit and the younger brother of Minnesota Viking Kevin Murphy. One of the top Offensive Tackles in college football for next season.

OG: Joshua Garnett – Stanford (6-5, 325) Puyallup, Wa. Sr: Garnett teamed with Andrus Peat last year on the Stanford left side. Peat, Garnett and Murphy were part of an outstanding Stanford recruiting class and they have not disappointed. Garnett is a powerful run blocker.

OG: Christian Westerman – Arizona State (6-4, 305) Chandler, Az. Sr: He first signed with Auburn before transferring back home. His first year as a starter was 2014 and he earned Honorable Mention all Pac 12. Should be a team leader in 2015 up front. Supposedly, Westerman can bench over 500 pounds.

OG: Viane Talamaivao – USC (6-3, 330) Moreno Valley, Ca. Soph: USC started 3 outstanding true freshmen Offensive Linemen last season as well as a sophomore. These guys are going to be improved this season and the next to form one of the better Offensive Lines in the country. Talamaivao is a huge Guard that was a road grader in the run game and good in pass protection as well. His future is very bright.

OC: Max Tuerk – USC (6-6, 285) Trabuco Canyon, Ca. Sr: USC’s top Offensive Lineman moved from Left Tackle to Center last year. He was the only returning starter from 2013 and did well with his move to Center much like the move made by Florida State with Cam Erving. He provides leadership up front for the Trojans.

OC: Graham Shuler – Stanford (6-4, 290) Franklin, Tn. Sr: One of the better Centers in the country and the Stanford Cardinal should have one of the nation’s better Offensive Lines. 2014 was his first full year as a starter and he came through for the Cardinal. Stanford struggled at the beginning of the season and came on late and finished strong thanks to warriors like Shuler.

DE: DeForest Buckner – Oregon (6-7, 290) Waianae, Hi. Sr: Buckner outplayed more highly publicized teammate Arik Armstead all year long and totaled 81 tackles and 13 tackles for loss, plus 4 Quarterback sacks. The huge Defensive End also broke up 4 passes, 3 Quarterback hurries and a forced fumble.

DE: Jason Fanaika – Utah (6-3, 270) Pleasant Grove, Ut. Sr: He began his career at Utah State before transferring to Utah and sitting out the 2013 season. Fanaika benefited greatly from playing the opposite side of Nate Orchard in 2014. He had 55 total tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss and 5 Quarterback sacks. Orchard is gone, and expect Fanaika to improve to take up the slack.

DE: Edmond Boateng – Arizona State (6-3, 265) Fairfax, Virginia Jr: Boateng plays their Devil position which is basically a Defensive End. He was a back up last season but looked good  in limited opportunities and he has a high upside. Totaled only 22 tackles a year ago but had 2.5 sacks and 4.5 tackles for loss. I believe he has a bright future.

DT: Kenny Clark – UCLA (6-3, 310) San Bernardino, Ca. Jr: Clark was one of the more impressive Defensive Tackles/Nose Guards around last season. Clark was first team All Pac 12 in 2014. Very good against the run, but not the best pass rusher. UCLA Bruin defense should be much improved in 2015.

DT: Eddie Vanderdoes – UCLA (6-3, 305) Auburn, Ca. Jr: This outstanding Defensive Lineman was a former 5 star recruit and the top rated Tackle in the country. Vanderdoes had 50 total tackles and 2 Quarterback sacks. Teams with Kenny Clark to form part of a very solid Defensive Line for the UCLA Bruins. The Bruins need an upgrade at Defensive Coordinator, but Tom Bradley formerly of Penn State and West Virginia should get it done.

LB: Scooby Wright III – Arizona (6-1, 245) Windsor, Ca. Jr: Wright won pretty much every award possible in 2014. He won the Lombardi, the Bednarik and the Bronco Nagurski Awards and should have won the Butkus Award as well. He led the nation in tackles with 163 with 29 tackles for loss and 14 sacks. Wright also forced an amazing 6 fumbles in 2014. It may not be possible for Wright to improve on last season, but this guy has a lot of heart and if anyone can it is going to be Scooby Wright.

LB: Jared Norris – Utah (6-2, 235) Bakersfield, California Sr: Jared Norris is Utah’s fastest Linebacker and going into his 3rd year as a starter. He had a productive 2014 season with 116 total tackles, 13 tackles for loss, and 4 Quarterback sacks. Norris supposedly runs a 4.6 but those times become more real at the NFL combine. Either way, he is a good player for the Utes.

LB: Blake Martinez – Stanford (6-2, 245) Tucson, Az. Sr: Stanford’s leading tackler from last season and he returns for his senior season. Martinez totaled 101 tackles in 2014 and had 3 Interceptions, plus 7 tackles for loss and 4.5 Quarterback sacks. Martinez also forced 2 fumbles, broke up 2 passes and had 4 Quarterback hurries. Very good and aggressive player.

LB: Myles Jack – UCLA (6-1, 235) Bellevue, Wa. Jr: The much celebrated Jack did not play as much at Running Back in 2014 as he did in 2013 as a true freshman. He focused more on defense and Linebacker. Jack is an outstanding athlete and he has yet to tap into his enormous potential. He had 87 total tackles as a sophomore and 8 tackles for loss. Jack broke up 7 passes, had 2 Quarterback hurries and an Interception which he returned for 41 yards. The Bruins still used Jack sparingly as a Running Back and he had 28 carries for 113 yards and 3 Touchdowns.

LB: Peter Kalambayi – Stanford (6-3, 245) Matthews, NC. Jr: Kalambayi was a back up last season for the Cardinal, but was very impressive when given the opportunity. He is nasty coming off the edge on a pass rush and had 6.5 Quarterback sacks and 9.5 tackles for loss. Kalambayi will be a full time starter in 2015 and will put up big numbers.

CB: Adoree Jackson – USC (5-11, 185) Gardena, Ca. Soph: The Trojans’ class was not rated as highly as those in the SEC, but  they had quite a few outstanding players and Adoree Jackson was one of the best. I might take heat for this, but Jackson reminds me of Deion Sanders. Jackson had 49 tackles, 4 tackles for loss and 9 passes broken up. Jackson played some at Wide Receiver and had 10 receptions and he returned Kickoffs. He had 23 returns and he scored on 2 of them while averaging almost 30 yards per return.

CB: Ishmael Adams – UCLA (5-8, 190) Woodland Hills, Ca. Adams is one of my favorite players. He’s very explosive as a defender or as a return man. Mr Excitement returned 21 punts and had no Touchdowns but he had a couple called back due to penalties. He had 25 Kickoff returns and 1 Touchdown. As a Cornerback, Adams had 41 tackles. Adams broke up 4 passes and picked off 2 more which he returned for Touchdowns. All Conference last season and All American candidate this season.

CB: Sidney Jones – Washington (6-0, 175) Diamond Bar, Ca. Soph: Jones was a true freshman Cornerback that totaled 61 tackles, 5 passes broken up and 2 Interceptions. Washington had some huge losses on defense but had some good young athletes as well led by Jones and Budda Baker.

DB: Budda Baker – Washington (5-11, 175) Bellevue, Wa. Soph: Another outstanding true budda baker washfreshman in 2014. Budda Baker as among the tackling leaders for the Washington Huskies. He had 80 tackles and another 2 tackles for losses. He also had an Interception and broke up 6 more. The only knock on Baker is his lack of size, but he makes up for that with his speed and his desire to be good.

DB: Jordan Simone – Arizona State (6-0, 195) Sammamish, Wa. Sr: Simone started off at Washington State and played on special teams as a freshman. Transferred to Arizona State as a walk-on and earned a scholarship before the 2014 season. Behind Damarious Randall, Simone was the Sun Devils most productive Defensive Back. He totaled 100 tackles, 2 Interceptions and a fumble return. Simone had his best game against USC when he totaled 20 tackles.

DB: Sua Cravens – USC (6-1, 225) Los Angeles, Ca. Jr:  Cravens played safety a year ago but moved to Outside Linebacker and played very well. I like him at either position but wanted to include him on my all conference list because he is a talented player. Totaled 68 tackles, including 17 for loss and 5 quarterback sacks. Cravens also picked off 3 passes and  took one back for a Touchdown. Cravens broke up 9 passes and is a quality player whether at Safety or at Outside Linebacker.
