14 top Wide Receivers 2014

The Number 1 receiver in the country would have been without  a doubt, Dorial Green-Beckham but he would rather break into houses for a few bucks instead of waiting a year’s time for some real money. Sorry if you are related to Green-Beckham and you find my comments insulting, but he let a lot of people down and for what reason.

1. Ty Montgomery- Stanford.  Montgomery is big enough at 6-2,215 to be a possession receiver but he has game breaking speed. He had 61 catches for 958 yards and 10 TDs in 2013. Montgomery also returned 2 Kick Offs for TDs while averaging 30.31 yards per kick off return. He ran for 159 yards and 2 more TDs. Montgomery has it all, size, hands, speed and toughness. Should be a high draft pick after this year and become an NFL star. A lot of Stanford guys left early after 2013 and surprisingly Ty Montgomery elected to come back. Hopefully, this works out well for him and he has an All American season and goes within the top 5 of next year’s draft. Again, Green-Beckham would have been the top guy here, but Montgomery is a good one to replace him.

2. Rashad Greene- Florida State. Just like with Montgomery, I was shocked when Greene came back for his senior year. Rashad Greene is not one of the bigger WR like Montgomery or Green-Beckham at 6-0,180. But, he has plenty of speed and game breaking ability and he’s Jameis Winston’s favorite target.  He had 76 catches for 1128 yards and 9 TDs in 2013 and was a large part in Florida State’s National Championship season. Rashad Greene has a shot at being the first Wide Receiver taken in next year’s NFL draft and Florida State has a good shot at repeating as National Champion. Greene is a fun player to watch.

Top few guys for next season are all seniors.

3. Antwon Goodley- Baylor. At 5-10,225, Goodley is built more like a Fullback but take my word on this he is an excellent Wide Receiver. If you don’t want to take my word on it, watch his film. Goodley was Bryce Petty’s number 1 target last season and hauled in 71 passes for an incredible 1,339 yards and 13 TDs. He averaged 18.86 yards per catch which is very impressive on  that many receptions. Goodley did very little as a sophomore and then just exploded with a spectacular junior season. Surprisingly, he did not declare for the NFL and returned to Baylor for his senior season. Expect him to have  a huge senior year and move his way up the draft boards.

4. Tyler Lockett- Kansas State. Lockett is yet another senior that decided he had not had enough of college ball. My kind of guy. Lockett will never be mistaken for a Fullback. He is a smaller Wide Receiver but has excellent quickness and hands. In some games during 2013, Lockett was basically unstoppable. He finished the season with 81 catches for 1262 yards and 11 TDs. Against Michigan in their bowl game, Lockett had 10 catches. Against Oklahoma, he had 12 catches for 278 yards and 3 TDs. Against Texas, he had 13 receptions for 237 yards. Those Defensive Coordinators probably still have nightmares about Tyler Lockett. Like the others, Lockett is a good return man.

5. Jamison Crowder- Duke. Crowder is a lot like Lockett only a little bit shorter at 5-9. Very explosive player that changes directions at full speed well. He’s not going to win many 100 meter competitions but he might win a 40 yard race. Crowder hauled in 108 passes for 1,360 yards and 8 TDs. He is also a punt return specialist and took 2 of them back for scores for the Duke Blue Devils. Duke was the surprise team of the ACC last season winning the Coastal Division and they played FSU for the ACC Championship. ACC! ACC! ACC!

Jamison Crowder is sort of on the smallish side to be well thought of by the NFL size freaks, but he is an outstanding college Wide Receiver. Look for Crowder to have another huge season for the Duke Blue Devils even if they don’t win their division again.

6. Nelson Agholor- USC.  If you have a problem with Nelson Agholor’s last name, blame it on his Nigerian heritage. He was born in Nigeria and moved to Tampa, Florida when he was 5 years old.

Agholor was a 5 star recruit coming out of high school and signed with the USC Trojans. Agholer is slightly bigger than Crowder and Lockett but the same type of player at 6-0, 185. He is an excellent Wide Receiver as well as an excellent return man. Compared to some of the other Wide Receivers his numbers aren’t spectacular but he had All American Marqise Lee as one of the other Wide Receivers. Agholor caught 56 passes for 918 yards and 6 TDs and had 2 punt returns for scores. He should have a huge season in 2014 with the loss of Lee to the NFL and the emergence of USC QB Cody Kessler. Agholor is relatively new to the Wide Receiver position having played Running Back in high school.

7. Devin Funchess- Michigan.  Funchess is a former Tight End and would be at  the top of my list as the best Tight End in the country if he were still lined up there. He has excellent speed reportedly in the 4.4 range. Funchess is 6-5, 235 and is obviously going to be a great blocker at WR as well as have the excellent hands and create mismatches with any defensive back he is lined up against. Funchess caught 49 passes for 748 yards and 6 TDs. He could be one of the top offensive weapons in the country in 2014. Look for Funchess to have a great season and then declare for the NFL money after the season is over. To me, I would rather see him stay at the Tight End spot, but he could prove me wrong as a big play guy.

8. Sammie Coates- Auburn.  Sammie Coates is an explosive big play guy that is a threat on any passing play. He would be near the top of the list if Auburn threw the ball more, but make no mistake about it, Sammie Coates is really good. He only had 42 receptions in 2013, but they went for 902 yards which is 21.48 yards per catch. That was good for 3rd best in the entire country and also led to 7 TDs. Coates is not a huge receiver like Funchess or some others but he is more than big enough at 6-2, 200. He is able to come up with the circus catches and impresses with his toughness. Nick Marshall has been working hard to improve his passing and Coates should be one of the benefactors of that. Auburn also added an absolute super star at Wide Receiver which should take pressure off of Coates as well. Coates could move up here dramatically this season.

9. Austin Hill – Arizona.  Austin Hill missed all of 2013 due to injury but is back at full speed and should be one of the top receivers in the country. Austin Hill is kind of like Coates in that he has so much potential and could move up in the rankings this season. Hill is similar in size as well at 6-3, 215. Hill caught 81 passes for 1,364 yards and 11 TDs in 2012 before missing 2013. If Hill is truly back from his injury at 100% look for him to have a super outstanding season and be one of the top Wide Receivers in the country.

Every one of these masters accompanies diverse accessibility and expense and it is impractical for viagra no prescription uk everybody to attempt as the vast majority of them charge higher charges. Well erectile dysfunction is not a daily issue it only arises when one feels to perform cialis canadian prices sex with their partner. Side effects: Stomach upset, diarrhea/loose stools, nausea, vomiting, or viagra uk cheap stomach/abdominal pain may occur.

10. Laquon Treadwell – Ole Miss. Treadwell was a true freshman last season and was spectacular. He was first team Freshman All American and the SEC Freshman of the year. Treadwell caught 72 passes for 608 yards and 5 TDs. Treadwell is a big body guy at 6-2,225 and he could still be growing. If Ole Miss is to have the big season that many expect then they are going to have to have a huge season again out of Laquon Treadwell.

11. Duke Williams-Auburn.  Duke Williams has never played a down of Division 1 football. But, it was blatantly obvious in the Auburn Spring Game that Duke Williams is going to be a star. Williams was the top Junior College Recruit in the entire country a season ago and came to Auburn with very high expectations which he should fulfill with flying colors in 2014. Should team up with Sammie Coates to form the best receiving duo in the nation. Williams is 6-2,215 and a high flying, circus catch making super man in the making.

12. Stacy Coley- Miami. Coley had a solid to very good freshman year for the Hurricanes but look for him to have a huge sophomore season and impress the nation. He’s an excellent punt and kick off return guy as well averaging 22 yards per punt return and scoring 1 TD and also scoring a TD on a Kick off return.  Coley had 33 catches as well. Simply put, Coley is a big play guy like the Miami  receivers of old. Coley is 6-1,185, not a huge receiver but can fly and can change directions at full speed. Miami QB situation is up in the air, but they will have a top receiver in Stacy Coley to work with.

13. Amari Cooper- Alabama.  Cooper is just a big time player from Miami, Florida and could easily have been picked much higher. Cooper is big enough at 6-1, 205 to be a good blocker out at Wide Receiver and he had better be at Alabama. He not only can block, he can catch the ball pretty well also and had 45 catches for 736 yards and 4 TDs.

Biggest problem for Cooper could be in 2014 is the QB situation at Alabama. If Jacob Coker comes through for the Crimson Tide, then Cooper may do really well. The other QBs in the Spring did not look that great and the Tide may turn to the running game to survive the rugged SEC West.

14. Bralon Addison- Oregon. Addison is a star for Oregon but he injured his knee and may not return for the beginning of 2014. Addison was set to have a really huge year since the Ducks lost other Texan star Josh Huff to graduation. Addison caught 61 passes for 890 yards and 7 TDs. At 5-10, 180, Addison is also an excellent return man taking 2 punts back for TDs.
