McCaffrey Halloween Update

Clearly, Max McCaffrey and Duke got ripped on Halloween Night by some of the typical horrible officiating that we get these days even with all of the technology in the world available.

Speaking of technology, I can only play 4 games at once and then I follow the rest of the games on my computer. Yes, I am a 6-5, 260 nerd but only about football. All right, all right, I also like science and such.

I was following the Duke versus Miami game online and I saw that Duke Quarterback Thomas Sirk scored with a few seconds left to give Duke a come from behind win.

I was stunned when I saw in a few minutes that the Hurricanes had actually won the game.

Max McCaffrey had one of his better days in college football, if not his very best. He hauled down 9 receptions for 90 yards and he helped his Quarterback Thomas Sirk to 31 completions in 52 attempts and 258 yards.

This was an unfortunate turn of events for the Duke Blue Devils as they were set to face North Carolina next week for ACC Coastal supremacy. Of course, if Duke at 3-1 in the ACC were to beat 4-0 North Carolina they would still be in the driver’s seat with Pittsburgh coming up next on the schedule.

It just would have been more fun with both teams coming in at 4-0.

The Duke Blue Devils still control their own destiny. Just win, baby.

Out West, I predicted Stanford would have it’s hands full with dangerous Washington State in Pullman, Washington on All Hallows Eve. http://collegefootballcrazy.com/could-be-a-scary-night-for-stanford/

We’ve all seen Washington State’s Mike Leach before. He terrorized other teams for years at Texas Tech even when his team was not that good. On his better seasons, Leach coached some huge upsets over the years.

Stanford survived when Washington State missed a late field goal and they hung on for a 30-28

victory.

Christian McCaffrey ran for 107 yards on 22 yards in a hard rain. He was held in check mostly in the passing game with only 4 receptions for 26 yards.

This wasn’t one of Christian McCaffrey’s best games, but his team won and stayed in first place in the Pac 12 North Division.

On the season, McCaffrey has 1,060 yards rushing on 175 carries and 6 Touchdowns. Coming out of the backfield, he has 25 catches for 310 yards and 2 more Touchdowns.

He’s got 559 yards on Kick off returns and only 25 yards on punt returns. But, keep in mind he will possibly break one of those in the next game or two.

Highly recruited high school junior Dylan McCaffrey led his Valor Christian Eagles to a win over a pretty good Grandview team, 31-14.

McCaffrey completed 17 passes out of 25 attempts for 164 yards and 2 Touchdowns. On the ground, he ran for 88 yards on 13 carries and another Touchdown. Of the trick play variety, he had 1 reception for 28 yards and yet another Touchdown.

For the season, Dylan McCaffrey has thrown for 1,937 and 16 Touchdowns with 361 yards rushing and 8 Touchdowns.

Dylan McCaffrey is being recruited by all of the big boys and his recruitment will be interesting to follow. Stanford and Duke would seem to be the favorites, but I don’t think he’s ruled anyone else out yet, either.
