Marvin Wilson and the Florida State Defensive Line

Last season, the Clemson Tigers brought in true freshman Defensive Tackle Dexter Lawrence and he was as good as any first year Defensive Tackle as I have ever had the pleasure to watch. There was also Ed Oliver at the University of Houston who was the first ever 5 star recruit signed by that school. He came in and just terrorized Offensive Linemen and Quarterbacks.

When one of the recruiting services listed Bellaire Episcopal High School’s Walker Little as their highest rated recruit ever, and he is fantastic, somebody made a comment that he was not even the best player on his own team. I totally agree. Little is a 6-8, 310 Offensive Tackle that is an incredible prospect.

But, teammate Marvin Wilson might be the stuff of legends.

It’s hard to predict that Wilson will have the kind of seasons that Dexter Lawrence and Ed Oliver had in 2016. He may turn out to be every bit as good as Lawrence and Oliver, but it’s a totally different situation.

Wilson was a 5 star recruit on everybody’s board. Not just some of the recruiting sites had him listed as a 5 star, all of them did, or everyone that I saw. Marvin Wilson is just a beast. He has outstanding quickness for his size and he is super aggressive. You might say he has something of a mean streak. I’ve never met the kid, so I don’t know what he’s like off the field. But, on the gridiron, he’s not a fella that you want to have issues with.

Bellaire is a suburb of Houston and Episcopal is a private school and one might question the competition level. But, that would be a mistake because Marvin Wilson would be unblock able at any

level of high school football. He is just that good.

The biggest reason why I am unsure he will have the same effect as Dexter Lawrence and Ed Oliver is the talent level and depth that the Florida State Seminoles have going into 2017.

Florida State is loaded on the Defensive Line.

Whether the Seminoles are in a  3 man or a 4 man front, they have plenty of bodies.

We all generic tadalafil 20mg know that ED is an inability of achieving or sustaining erections. Derrick Nnadi is one of the top returning Defensive Tackles in the country and definitely one of the more productive at his position. Nnadi is 6-1, 315 and going into his senior season. He’s a more than solid run stuffer and he even has some pass rushing skills which was demonstrated by his 6 Quarterback sacks and 10 and a half tackles for loss while compiling 49 total tackles.

There aren’t many national Defensive Tackles that are much better than Derrick Nnadi.

Demarcus Christmas is just now coming into his own. The 6-4, 310 Christmas redshirted as a freshman so he’s a very strong, talented and experienced junior coming into this season. He’s also a guy that likes to be in the opponents backfield and get heat on the Quarterbacks.

Frederick Jones and Walvenski Aime should be the back up Tackles this season and both are big and talented. They are both going to be juniors. Both have size and quickness.

Arthur Williams is a 6-4, 327 monster that could play at a lot of schools. Cedric Wood is a 6-3, 320 local kid that could play on down the road. Darvin Taylor is a 6-3, 300 redshirt freshman from

Chester, Virginia that has yet to see action.

It’s almost an embarrassment of riches.

Much is made out of some other school’s recruiting classes, but this past season the Seminoles grabbed the number 1 recruits on ESPN’s list at Running Back, Defensive Tackle and Defensive End. In the he’s got guts category, 4th ranked Running Back Khalon Laborn and 15th ranked Running Back Zaquandre White also signed with the Seminoles.

The Seminoles have their work cut out for them in 2017 opening with Alabama, but they have a chance to be really good. Quarterback Deondre Francois will do nothing but get better and losing Dalvin Cook might have been huge, but they have people ready to go.

Stick around, it should be fun.
