Cam Akers Florida State Running Back Commit

After winning the last BCS championship in 2013, and making the playoffs in 2014, the Florida State Seminoles have taken a back seat to the Clemson Tigers the past two seasons.

But, with Clemson Tiger Quarterback Deshaun Watson leaving for the NFL, the Seminoles have a much greater shot at winning the ACC next season. Clemson also loses outstanding talents in Mike Williams and Artivus Scott at Wide Receiver and Wayne Gallman at Running Back.

While Clemson did lose their top Offensive skill position players, the Seminoles have a huge loss also in Running Back Dalvin Cook. Over the past three seasons, Cook has run for 4,464 yards and 46 Touchdowns. He also caught 79 passes for 935 yards and surprisingly only 2 more Touchdowns.

Losing a guy like Cook is kind of a big deal.

How are they ever going to replace Cook and his breathtaking runs in their offense? Maybe they can’t replace him, but calling off the season is not an option and the Polls have Florida State ranked #2 already for the coming 2017 season.

Probably getting the first shot at the vacant Running Back position will be junior to be, Jacques Patrick. The Orlando native has plenty of power and surprising speed at 6-2, 230. As a true freshman in 2015, Patrick ran for 314 yards and 5 Touchdowns and then this past season he ran for 350 yards and 4 more Touchdowns.

Patrick is a talent, no doubt, and he does have good speed for his size. But, his speed is not going to

remind of Dalvin Cook.

Going into the Spring, Patrick has to be the favorite for the starting job.

On campus, they also have Ryan Green who will be a senior next season. Green had his best season as a freshman when he carried the ball 33 times. That was in 2013, and he hasn’t gotten many carries since then.

There’s also sophomore Amir Rasul from Miami. Last season, as a freshman, Rasul carried the ball 6 times for 46 yards.

Senior Johnathan Vickers is another guy with playing potential. He hasn’t seen much playing time, but he’s a big back at 6-1, 230.

The most exciting and intriguing prospect of all is an incoming freshman named Cam Akers.

As gatekeepers of the Internet they’re gradually closing the doors on sites that offer nothing worthwhile to the public who are searching for the spe discount viagra generict motor operators who have sound knowledge and understanding on not only operating the machine but would also be skilled enough in maintaining the motor too. Cam Akers is a 5 star Running Back that ESPN has as their top Running Back in the 2017 recruiting class.

But, at Clinton, Mississippi, Akers played mostly Quarterback and he played it well. He played it so well that he threw for 3,128 yards as a senior with 31 Touchdowns. He can fling the ball about 50 to 60 yards while being completely out of perfect form while on the run. He has an extremely strong arm. In his 4 years on the varsity, the talented Akers threw for 8,140 yards and 78 Touchdown passes.

He rushed for 2,105 yards and 34 touchdowns. For his career, Akers ran for 5,103 yards and 71 Touchdowns.

These stats might be mind blowing, but watching this guy run with the ball is beyond description.

Some reporter claimed that Akers was the best player to come out of Mississippi since Marcus Dupree, and maybe he was better than Dupree.

To compare Akers with maybe Dalvin Cook comes to mind. But, he also reminds so much of Michael Vick. His future is not at Quarterback but Akers can spin the football almost like some of the great ones. He is only 5-11, 215 and his future is more as a Running Back.

Akers is just a phenomenal athlete and maybe one of the best these eyes have ever seen.

I would be surprised, and I mean very surprised if Akers is not the starter from their very first game against Alabama.

As if Cam Akers, Jacques Patrick, Johnathan Vickers, Amir Rasul and Ryan Green weren’t enough, the Seminoles they also have a commitment from the 4th ranked Running Back, Khalan Laborn, Virginia Beach puts out a lot of prospects every year, and Laborn is another one that is really good. He not only plays Running Back, but he could also play Wide Receiver and he’s an outstanding kick and punt returner. Laborn is a strong runner at 5-10, 200 with enough speed to make him a threat at several positions.

Another 4 star committed to the Seminoles is the 15th ranked Running Back from North Fort Meyers, Florida, Zaquandre White.

The first thing you will notice about White might be his toughness. He just doesn’t want to go down. He is fast, too, and he’s very shifty. He can get up to top speed almost instantly. He’s an amazing looking athlete and if a defender just wants to hit him without wrapping their arms, they are going to get yelled at by their coaches. He’s hard to knock down.

The Florida State Seminoles have some really good options at Running Back with Jacques Patrick and the guys already on campus. But, Cam Akers has a chance to be really special.
