Big 10 Best Freshmen Per School

Illinois:

Desmond Cain WR Delray Beach, Florida: Good prospect out of Florida that is currently third on the team in receptions with 26 receptions. Not quite the production of last year’s true freshman Dudek, but with Dudek returning next season teaming up with Cain and fellow freshman receiver Samuel Mays, they should be good at Wide Receiver for a while.

Ke’ Shawn Vaughn RB Nashville, Tennessee: The former 3 star recruit out of Tennessee is a starter as a true freshman and is leading the team in rushing. His best game came against Nebraska with 98 yards rushing.

Gabe Megginson OT Jacksonville, Illinois: The Illini’s only 4 star recruit and he is currently the back up at the all important Left Tackle position which means the coaching staff sees that potential in him.

Samuel Mays WR Houston, Texas:  Tall Wide Receiver from Houston that could be a good receiver especially when he fills out a little. He has 7 receptions in 7 games in limited playing time.

Jeff George Jr QB Indianapolis, Indiana: Unranked recruit is obviously the son of one of Illinois more famous former players outside of Dick Butkus. His father was the coolest customer of all time, probably. He almost looked bored on the field and then just made one play after another. Time will tell whether son is like father, but he is one of Illinois more intriguing prospects.

Indiana:

Jonathan Crawford DB Largo, Florida: Crawford started at Safety and was 2nd on the team in tackles as a true freshman. Crawford is 6-2, 190 with a bright future. Besides the tackles, Crawford picked off 4 passes.

Andre Brown DB Decatur, Georgia: Brown worked his way into a starting position at the Right Cornerback position opposite of excellent Corner Rashard Fant. Brown is a good sized Cornerback at 6-0, 195.

Nick Westbrook WR Lake Mary, Florida: Westbrook caught 6 passes as a true freshman and at 6-3, 210 he has outstanding potential.

Mike Majette RB Woodbridge, Virginia: After Jordan Howard and Devine Redding, Majette got

some playing time and responded with 181 rushing yards and it appears he may compete with Redding for playing time in 2016.

Brandon Knight OT Noblesville, Indiana:  The Hoosiers have had good Offensive Lines over the past few years and Knight backed up Left Tackle Jason Spriggs last season. Knight should compete for playing time next season.

Iowa:

James Daniels OL Warren, Ohio: Daniels was the 5th rated Center prospect in the nation coming in and he has been pressed into starting duty at Offensive Guard for the Hawkeyes.

Jerminic Smith WR Garland, Texas: The freshman from Texas only caught 6 passes last year, but he should start in 2016 and those numbers should improve dramatically.

Drew Cook Ath Iowa City, Iowa: Iowa’s only 4 star recruit and their highest rated star. He was listed as an Athlete by recruiting services, but apparently the Hawkeyes wanted him as a Quarterback.

Maryland:

D.J. Moore WR Philadelphia, Pa: Moore was really good as a true freshman for the Terrapins catching 25 passes for 357 yards and 3 Touchdowns. His reception total was good enough to finish

second on the team. The Terrapins didn’t have a good passing game last year, but Moore was a bright spot for the future.

Ty Johnson RB Cumberland, Maryland: Johnson saw some action as a true freshman finishing 4th on the team in rushing with 35 carries for 250 yards and 3 Touchdowns. The 5-10, 185 Johnson averaged an impressive 7.14 yards per carry.  He also got to return a few punts and some kick offs showing some good speed.

Brett Zanotto LB Murrysville, Pennsylvania: Zanotto was a reserve Linebacker as a freshman but saw enough action to register 23 total tackles

Jahrvis Davenport WR Tampa, Florida: Three star recruit out of Florida caught 11 passes for 154 yards and a Touchdown.

Darnell Savage CB Bear, Delaware: Reserve Cornerback behind All Big 10 William Likely. Savage saw enough playing time to make 12 tackles.

Michigan:

Grant Newsome OT McLean, Virginia: Huge freshman redshirted a year ago, but should be the starter at Left Tackle as Mason Cole the returning starter moves to Center. Newsome is a 6-7, 300 former 4 star recruit.

Grant Perry WR Bloomfield, Michigan: Perry caught 14 passes a year ago for 128 yards

TJ Wheatley Jr TE Buffalo, New York: The son of former Michigan great Tyrone Wheatley one of the best players in the history of Michigan football. Father was a Tight End and Jr is a Tight End and

much bigger at 6-6, 250.

Zach Gentry TE Albuquerque, New Mexico: Gentry came to Michigan as a 6-7, 240 Quarterback and was moved to Tight End. Michigan is loaded at Tight End and playing time might be scarce for Gentry at first, but he is a talented athlete.

Michigan State:

LJ Scott RB Hubbard, Ohio: As expected, Scott became one of the regular Running Backs for the Spartans. He led the team in rushing with 699 yards and 11 rushing Touchdowns. Scott is 6-0, 235 and a bruiser.

Grayson Miller DB Georgetown, Kentucky:  The son of a former Spartan player, Miller was forced into playing time thanks to injuries in the Spartan secondary.

Andrew Dowell LB Lakewood, Ohio: Dowell was a Running Back recruit but the Spartans used him at Linebacker

Khari Willis DB Jackson, Michigan: Willis played sparingly as a freshman, but he looks like a future

player in the secondary for Michigan State.

Felton Davis III WR Highland Springs, Virginia: He only caught 2 passes as a freshman but he looks like the heir apparent to Aaron Burbridge at Wide Receiver.

Tyson Smith CB West Bloomfield, Michigan: Was the back up at Left Corner behind Darian Hicks.

Minnesota:

Shannon Brooks RB Jasper, Georgia: Brooks led the team in rushing as a freshman with 709 yards and 7 Touchdowns. He was a 3 star recruit.

Demry Croft QB Rockford, Illinois: The 6-5, 200 Croft played some as a true freshman and he looks like the Quarterback of the future for the Gophers.

Rashad Still WR El Paso, Texas: Not many football stars come out of El Paso, but Still looks like a future star. As a true freshman, Still caught 18 passes for 194 yards and 3 Touchdowns. Still is 6-5, 205 and big receivers are all the rage.

For thousands levitra sale of years, it has been used for centuries in Asia to treat stress-related health conditions. The scientists refer on the molecule as far much more more powerful than Sildenafil and Tadalafil. soft generic viagra s wonders for guys who had unsatisfactory or failed encounter with levitra. One should uproot the taboo of Impotence viagra professional price from the men. This cialis price canada medication has been very effective in treating allergies. Antonio Shenault CB Roselle, Illinois: Shenault backed up a senior last season and got a little

playing time and he should be a starter at Cornerback in 2016.

Julian Huff LB Bolingbrook, Illinois: A twin brother to safety Jacob Huff, Julian should move into a starting role at Linebacker after recording 22 tackles as a freshman.

Tyler Moore OC Houston, Texas: Lightly recruited Offensive Guard prospect from Texas that moved into the starting Center position for the Gophers as a true freshman.

Nebraska:

Dedrick Young LB Peoria, Arizona:  Young was listed as a Running Back recruit but he converted to Linebacker for the Huskers and earned a starting position as a true freshman.

Devine Ozigbo RB Sachse, Texas: A big Running Back at 5-11, 230, Ozigbo ran for 215 yards as a true freshman.

Stanley Morgan Jr WR New Orleans, Louisiana: Morgan is the son of former Tennessee Vol and NFL star of the same name. He also played at the same high school as Leonard Fournette. Morgan is a talent in his own right with 25 catches for 3 Touchdowns as a freshman.

Aaron Williams DB Atlanta, Georgia: Williams was a back up at Safety for the Huskers and he registered 24 tackles as a true freshman. He could be a starter in 2016.

Northwestern:

Jordan Thompson DL Cincinnati, Ohio: Thompson was a reserve Defensive Lineman a year ago that might press for more playing time in 2016.

Flynn Nagel WR Chicago, Illinois: Nagel only caught 4 passes as a true freshman, but the receivers lost several seniors from last year and he should get more passes thrown his way as a sophomore.

Jelani Roberts WR Baltimore, Maryland: Tiny Wide Receiver at about 5-8, 160, but he is very quick. As a freshman, he caught 8 passes and returned a kickoff which could be his job in future seasons.

Ohio State:

Torrance Gibson QB/WR Plantation, Florida: 5 star recruits do not grow on trees, and Gibson is a super talent whether he plays Quaterback or Wide Receiver. I wouldn’t rule out Gibson as back up

Quarterback next season and a star in the future.

Justin Hilliard LB Cincinnati, Ohio: I will put up Ohio State’s recruiting classes against anybody’s. They’ve just brought in talent by the truck load the past few seasons. Hilliard is another 5 star and he was the top rated Outside Linebacker in the nation and should contend for playing time in 2016.

Isaiah Prince OT Greenbelt, Maryland: The only true freshman to make the Ohio State 2 deep during last year’s season. Prince looks like the probable starter at Right Tackle next season with Jamarco Jones taking over for Taylor Decker at Left Tackle. The Buckeyes lose 3 starters up front, but look to be in good shape with talents like Prince.

Denzel Ward DB Macedonia, Ohio: There are so many talented players in this recruiting class and none of them started. Ward is a Cornerback and the Buckeyes will have some openings at Corner. Ward made 7 tackles a year ago.

Penn State:

Saquon Bradley RB Whitehall, Pennsylvania: Maybe the best freshman Running Back in the country this past season. I blogged about Barkley previously here: http://collegefootballcrazy.com/2825-2/    Barkley ran for 1,076 yards as a freshman despite missing some playing time with injuries and getting off to a slow start.

John Reid CB Philadelphia, Pennsylvania: Reid was a back up Cornerback last season, but he picked off 2 passes and recovered a fumble while making 29 total tackles.

Manny Bowen LB Barnegat, New Jersey: Outside Linebacker from New Jersey that played a little as a reserve and finished with 18 tackles and a lot of promise for the future.

Tommy Stevens QB Indianapolis, Indiana:  Stevens will be in the mix to replace Christian

Hackenberg next season. Stevens is 6-4, 200 and was highly coveted by Kevin Wilson of Indiana.

Purdue:

Markell Jones RB Columbus, Indiana: The 115th rated Running Back recruit in the nation and he ran for 875 yards and 10 Touchdowns as a true freshman.

Markus Bailey LB Hilliard, Ohio:  He was a reserve last season, but earned a little playing time and looks like he could start at Linebacker pretty quickly.

Eddie Wilson II DT West Bloomfield, Michigan:  Backup at Defensive Tackle for the Boilermakers behind excellent player Jake Replogle.

Elijah Sindelar QB Princeton, Kentucky: Sindelar took a redshirt as a freshman and then he will compete with David Blough and Aaron Banks for playing time at Quarterback. Sindelar was Purdue’s top recruit in 2015 and their only 4 star.

Rutgers:

Blessuan Austin CB Cambria Heights, New York:  Austin started at Corner for the Scarlett Knights as a true freshman and he made 33 total tackles and picked off 1 pass and took it back for a

Touchdown.

Ronnie James CB Glassboro, New Jersey: A back up at Cornerback playing behind a redshirt freshman.

Jarius Adams CB Palm Beach Gardens, Florida: All of the top freshmen at Rutgers in this past season were Cornerbacks, but that was probably more out of need than anything.

Wisconsin:

Chris Orr LB DeSoto, Texas:  Orr started at Linebacker for the Badgers and finished among the top tacklers on the team.

Olive Sagapolu  DT Santa Anna, California: Sagapolu was a back up at Nose Guard this past season.

Alec Ingold FB Green Bay, Wisconsin:  Ingold came into Wisconsin as a Dual Threat Quarterback but he’s up to about 240 pounds and he moved to Fullback and the Badgers used him as their short yardage back as a freshman.
