Interesting QB Battles Around the Country

Football is an 11 man game. Every position is important, but none more important than the QB position. A lot of the top teams around the country have very good QBs coming back like Jameis Winston at Florida State, Marcus Mariota at Oregon and Nick Marshall at Auburn. Then, there’s Brett Hundley at UCLA, and Taylor Kelly at Arizona State.

There are a number of schools that have decent QBs coming back and then there are some that are having a huge battle to find the next guy for their system.

Alabama will have an interesting QB battle going on into the Fall. Blake Sims is the starter right now, backed up by Cooper Bateman. But, the Crimson Tide eagerly await the arrival of Jacob Coker. Depending on who you talk to, Coker was really close in the battle at FSU with Jameis Winston for the starting job down there. Whether that is true or not, one can’t say and nobody from FSU will return calls or emails. But, what is true is that Coker is a talent out of Mobile, Alabama.A lot of Bama faithful are counting on Coker to start. But, don’t count out Sims just yet. He did not look good in the Spring Game, but you have to consider who he was going up against and he can make plays with his feet. This battle could continue on into the Fall season.

Arizona’s situation could be a mess, but at least they have plenty of options to choose from. Probably leading the pack for the Wildcats is Jesse Scroggins. Scroggins was a top dual threat QB recruit a few years back out of California that signed with USC.connor brewer

Anu Solomon from Las Vegas Bishop Gorman a redshirt freshman appears to be back up right now. Behind Solomon is Texas transfer, Connor Brewer, who probably would be starting if he had stayed at Texas. In the Spring Game, former LSU QB Jerrard Randle played in the fourth position and he showed good potential. He was a former 4 star guy out of Florida and I am not giving up on his potential just yet. Also in the mix is Louisiana Tech transfer Nick Isham. A bit on the smaller side, Isham appears to be one of those guys that is just gritty and gets the job done.

Khari McGee is a tall, athletic kid from Fresno, California that redshirted last season. He could play some receiver but the Wildcats are deep there, too. To confuse things even further, 4 star Brandon Hawkins comes in from California.

7 options may be a bit much, but this is a battle that should be interesting to watch.johnny football
It is a prescription medicine levitra cheapest price but doctors don’t hesitate in prescribing this drug to their people suffering from mild to severe impotency. It is clear distinction with tadalafil tablets “diarrhea”. These bacteria increase the resistance of our intestines to tadalafil generic viagra these infections. The same old signs can be abundant experiencing constant perspiration, ‘group within the can range f’, heart palpitations, twitching, dull throat, torso pain coupled with shortness using order viagra online oxygen as well as wheezing.
Texas A&M has the opposite kind of problem. Gone is Johnny Manziel, and also back up Matt Joeckel. The struggle for the open QB position is down to sophomore Kenny Hill and true freshman Kyle Allen. Allen was the top drop back QB recruit in the country and has the arm coaches covet. Allen should win the job, but he’s a true freshman.
david ash
Texas has had QB problems since Colt McCoy left. Next year could be another bad QB year for the Horns, unless something dramatic happens. David Ash has concussion issues and then he broke his foot in the Spring. They were left with Tyrone Swoopes and he has a long way to go to be ready to start. Max Wittek may be transferring in from USC and in the Summer they have super recruit Jerrod Heard coming in. Even if David Ash has recovered from his foot injury, he still has the concussion issue. Mack Brown left this program in a mess at QB.
georgia qb
Georgia started Hutson Mason in last year’s bowl game. He was not impressive. Maybe that game was an off day for him and we should see soon enough. Pushing him will be talented sophomore Faton Bauta and equally talented redshirt freshman Brice Ramsey. True freshman Jacob Park is a talent, but he is a true freshman. Mason is a senior and deserves the shot, but he has not played a lot behind former Georgia star, Aaron Murray.
miami hurricans
Miami was counting on senior Ryan Williams to start in 2014, but hadn’t played much in years or since he transferred from Memphis. Then, he hurt his knee and missed most of the Spring. He may be back in the Fall, but that is not a given. Redshirt freshman Kevin Olsen is the front runner, but he has not played. Neither had Jameis Winston or Johnny Manziel. Olsen looked good at times in their Spring Game and could be the answer to the problem. He is the son of a coach and comes from an athletic family with his older brother playing Tight End for the Carolina Panthers.

Gray Crow is another candidate for the job, but to me he did not do well in the Spring Game. He is a talented guy, though, and may battle it out with Olsen in the Fall.

4 star recruit, Brad Kaaya, comes in from West Hills, California in the fall. He is a big strong kid with a ton of ability. Future looks bright for the Canes, but they may struggle early on at QB. cole stoudt

Clemson named Cole Stoudt the starter after the Spring Game. I am not so sure that will hold up. He has some talent and a strong arm and he deserves a shot at starting. I am just wondering if true freshman, Deshaun Watson is too talented to keep off the field. Watson missed the Spring Game with a slightly fractured collar bone, but he is a gifted player and the coaches rave about him. Even if he does not start, he should get plenty of playing time in preparation for the following season in which he should be the star QB. Chad Kelly had been a candidate but he was booted from the team right after Spring Practice.
