2014 Preseason All ACC Team

QB: Jameis Winston (6-4,230) FSU. Winston is kind of good.

RB: Duke Johnson (5-9,195) Miami. Johnson is super quick and explosive. If he can avoid injury, he could be one of the best in the country. He rushed for 920 yards as a sophomore but only played in 8 games. Averaged 28.29 yards on kick off returns.

RB: Kevin Parks (5-8,205) Virginia. The Cavaliers did not have the best of years, but Parks was a bright spot rushing for 1031 yards and 11 TDs. Also a good receiver out of the backfield with 38 receptions.

RB: Karlos Williams (6-1,225) Florida State. Seminole back up Running Back last season but he put up huge numbers when he got the chance. Williams rushed for 730 yards at a very impressive 8.02 yards per carry. 2014 should be a big year for Williams since starter Devonta Freeman declared for the NFL draft.

WR: Jamison Crowder (5-9,175) Duke. Had an incredible year in 2013 with 108 receptions for 1360 and 8 TDs. Also great punt returner scoring 2 TDs that way. as well.

WR: Rashad Greene (6-0,180) Florida State. Greene had a great year catching 76 passes for 1128 yards and 9 TDs. The Seminoles are fortunate he decided to come back for his senior year.

TE: Nick O’Leary(6-3,250) Florida State. 1st team All American. Rough and rugged tight end should be a bigger target for Winston this season. 33 catches for 557 yards and 7 TDs a year ago.

TE: Jake McGee (6-6,250) Virginia. McGee comes up with the circus catches at times and had 43 receptions on the year for 395 yards and 2 TDs.

OT: Cam Erving (6-6,320) Florida State. One of the best OTs in the nation. 1st team All American and back for his senior year. Came in as a defensive tackle and has only played offensive tackle for a couple of years.

OT: Brent Benedict (6-5,300) Virginia Tech. Benedict has started quite a few games, and it’s time for him to step up and be a star. Will he be that guy this season is the question.

OG: Tre Jackson (6-4,330) Florida State. Super offensive guard for the Seminoles. FSU returns nearly every body up front and will be as good as last year or better.

OG: Laken Tomlinson (6-3,320) Duke. The Blue Devils had a surprising year and their offense was really good. Tomlinson is a huge OG that is equally adept at run and pass blocking.

C: Shane McDermott (6-4,295) Miami. 3rd team All ACC in 2013. He is coming back for his senior year and should provide leadership up front.

DEFENSE

DE: Vic Beasley (6-2,235) Clemson. 1st Team All American. 41 total tackles with 23 of them for loss. 13 sacks with 5 more hurries. Throw in 6 passes broken up and 4 forced fumbles, plus one fumble returned for a TD. Awesome player.

DE: Mario Edwards Jr (6-3,280) Florida State. Edwards is a beast. He only had 28 tackles, but he had 9.5 of those for losses and 3.5 sacks. He also had a 37 yard fumble return for a score, and 1 interception. He has one of the best position coaches in the country in Sal Sunseri and will only get better.

DE: Chris Casher (6-4,260) Florida State. Was a freshman back up last season but still managed 25 tackles and 2 sacks, plus 5 tackles for losses. Not only that but he had a 31 yard fumble return for a TD and another fumble forced. Runs the 40 in the 4.6 range. When does FSU not have great DE’s?

DT: Grady Jarrett (6-1,295) Clemson. Racked up 59 tackles from his DT position with 10.5 tackles for loss and 2 sacks. Clemson defense will be tough and especially the front 7.

DT: Luther Maddy (6-1,295) Virginia Tech. Maddy is one tough defensive tackle. He had 55 tackles with 13.5 of those being for losses. He also had 6.5 sacks and 8 QB hurries. Hard man to block.

OLB: Ukeme Eligwe (6-2,240) Florida State. Back up SLB last year that put up 28 tackles with 3 for loss and 2 sacks. Should be the full time starter at the Sam position this season and should be productive. Florida State has a vast amount of young talent coming up.

OLB: Travis Hughes (6-2,225) North Carolina. Senior year for Hughes in 2014 and returns after tackling the opponents 76 times. He had 5.5 tackles for losses and a sack.

ILB: Denzel Perryman (6-0,245) Miami. Home grown guy from Coral Gables, Perryman is the leader of the Cane defense. He had 108 tackles in 2013 with 5 for losses and 1.5 sacks.

ILB: Quayshawn Nealy (6-1,235) Georgia Tech. 66 tackles with 2 interceptions and 2 fumble returns with 1 going for a TD.

CB: PJ Williams (6-0,190) Florida State. Williams should help offset some losses the Seminoles suffered in the secondary. He had 35 tackles in 2013 and 3 interceptions. Like most of the players on his team he is big time.

CB: Juston Burris (6-1,205) North Carolina State. Big corners are in demand these days to match up with big WRs better. Burris had 54 tackles last season and 1 interception.

S: Anthony Thomas Virginia 8 ints in 2013

S: Nate Andrews (5-11,210) Florida State. Outstanding freshman for the Seminoles last season and had 4 interceptions and one run back for a TD. Andrews is big time.

S: Ryan Janvion (5-11,190) Wake Forest. Great freshman year for Janvion as he led his team in tackles with 95. Also picked off a pass and had 2.5 tackles for losses.
