Nick Saban Says No Quarterback Controversy

Yeah, good luck with that coach.

Oh, sure, the fans love Jalen Hurts right now. But, let him make a mistake and throw an interception and watch them call out for the new true freshman, Tua Tagovailoa to replace him. Tagovailoa is a fantastic young player and dazzled fans during the Alabama Spring Game with his running and passing. He’s got a lively arm and can thread the needle just about anywhere on the field.

He did make a mistake and threw an interception that was more of an incredible play by Defensive End/Linebacker Terrell Hall who timed his leap perfectly and came down with the football and ran in for a defensive Touchdown.

Tagovailoa is not perfect even though he seems so at times. tongue-oh-vae-loa

Alabama is down to three Quarterbacks with highly recruited guys like Blake Barnett, Cooper Bateman and David Cornwell all moving on to destinations where they could receive some playing time. In their 2017 recruiting class, Alabama also signed 19th ranked Pocket Passer Mac Jones who

was also an early enrollee.

Practically every season the Crimson Tide is crowned winners of the recruiting wars, but this year is different. This year may even be the best Nick Saban has had at Alabama.

The class may be better just based on 3 early enrollees.

Tua Tagovailoa might be the most exciting freshman Quarterback in the country. While, Jalen Hurts seems to have improved his passing since last season, but he won’t be flawless this season and fans will call for Tagovailoa.

Najee Harris, from Antioch, California, was rated as the 2nd best Running Back recruit in the country. He certainly looked the part in the Spring Game and the 6-3, 225 Harris will make an impact as a true freshman in 2017. He’s obviously big, but he’s also really fast and fluid. He’s strong, but in Bama’s Spring Game he hurdled a diving Defensive Back and gained a few more yards.

Harris has a chance to be really, really good and to do it early in his career at Alabama.

Another early enrollee may have been the most impressive of them all and that’s a fairly huge statement.

Jerry Jeudy was ESPN’s third ranked Wide Receiver in the country in the 2017 class. In Alabama’s Spring Game, Jeudy made catch after catch and some of them were difficult catches which receivers need to make if they want to play and to make their Quarterback look good.

Jeudy has great hands, some speed and concentration. He looks like a guy that will play right away and become another All American at Alabama. The 6-1, 180 native of Deerfield Beach, Florida really

put on a show.

Of all of the Spring Games televised, and there were many, the only one that ESPN felt the need to put on their main channel was Alabama’s. The folks that say the SEC and Alabama get special treatment are clearly correct. I personally do not have a problem with it, but many do.

Alabama is clearly a college football dynasty that is here to stay and they appear on the verge of having a Quarterback controversy regardless of what Nick Saban is feeding to reporters. Tua Tagovailoa is simply way too good to keep on the sideline.
