- Jadeveon Clowney – South Carolina (6-6, 240) DE, Rock Hill, South Carolina: Top recruit of 2011 and then very first draft pick in 2014’s NFL Draft. Need I say more?
- Anthony Johnson – LSU (6-3, 300) DT, New Orleans, Louisiana: Johnson only started one year for LSU and then declared for the NFL Draft and was not picked. He signed with Miami as a free agent and made the team but was on injured reserve as a rookie.
- Cyrus Kouandjio – Alabama (6-7, 325) OT, Hyattsville, Maryland: Played Left Tackle for Alabama and was a 2nd round pick by the Buffalo Bills in 2014. His brother, Arie, was the Left Guard for Bama this past season. Plays Right Tackle for the Bills.
- Isaiah Crowell – Georgia (5-11, 210) RB, Columbus, Georgia: Crowell was as good as advertised and started at Georgia as a true freshman. He ran for 850 yards and his future looked promising to say the least. Then, he was arrested on a felony weapons charge and was booted from Georgia. Wound up at Alabama State and is now with the Cleveland Browns.
- Karlos Williams – Florida State (6-2, 210) RB, Davenport, Florida: Good, solid player for the Seminoles, but never the star that he was expected to become. He did wind up with 1,945 yards over 4 years and 22 career Touchdowns.
- Christian Westerman – Auburn (6-4, 290) OT, Chandler, Arizona: Westerman transferred from Auburn back home to Arizona State. Some would label that a bust in itself, but he started in 2014 at Left Guard and is the strongest player on the Sun Devils’ team benching over 500 pounds. Arizona State has a strong Offensive Line and Westerman is a leader there and far from a bust.
- Malcolm Brown – Texas (5-11, 215) RB, Cibilo, Texas: Like Karlos Williams, Brown was a bit of a letdown. He did run for 2,678 career yards which wasn’t a total loss, but much was expected of him being a 5 star Running Back. It’s a great year for Running Backs in this year’s NFL Draft class so he may not even be drafted.
- La’el Collins – LSU (6-5, 281) OT, Baton Rouge, Louisiana: Collins was a star at Left Tackle for the Tigers and he will be drafted pretty high in this year’s draft. Talk has him as a Guard
prospect for NFL teams. Excellent run blocker that also excels in pass blocking.
- Tony Steward – Clemson (6-1, 225) ILB, Saint Augustine, Florida: Solid contributor on the nation’s best defense in 2014. He was the 4th leading tackler on the team.
- Jeff Driskel – Florida (6-4, 224) QB, Oviedo, Florida: I’m not sure if the fault was with Driskel or with the Florida coaches, but he never lived up to expectations. He transferred to Louisiana Tech for next season. Great athlete that is a tough runner and has a solid arm.
- Aaron Green – Nebraska (5-11, 180) RB, San Antonio, Texas: This class of Running Backs was just the opposite of the 2014 class. Green signed with Nebraska, but transferred to TCU after his freshman season when he rushed for 105 yards. After sitting out 2012, Green rushed for 232 yards during 2013 in a very disappointing season for the Frogs. In 2014 Green split time with BJ Catalon and he still ran for 922 yards and 9 Touchdowns.
- George Farmer – USC (6-2, 205) WR, Gardena, California: Caught a grand total of 31 passes in college before declaring for the NFL. Sometimes I wonder if these guys are for real. Major bust.
- Ray Drew – Georgia (6-5, 253) DE, Thomasville, Georgia: Good Defensive Lineman for the Bulldogs. Was awesome blocking kicks as a senior with 3 of them. Recorded 39 tackles as a senior and a Quarterback sack, plus 10 hurries.
- Charone Peake – Clemson (6-3, 191) WR, Roebuck, South Carolina: Was set to be a star in 2013 until he went down with injury after making 8 catches in the first 2 games. Gained a redshirt season and was a junior in 2014 while catching 12 passes. He missed 6 more games in 2014. Still has a shot at a good career, but he may have been passed by fellow Receivers Mike Williams and Aravius Scott.

15. Aaron Lynch – Notre Dame (6-5, 250) DE, Cape Coral, Florida: Played at Notre Dame as a true freshman and started 6 games. Wanted to play closer to home and transferred to South Florida and had to sit out a year. Played one season at South Florida and registered 29 total tackles with 5 Quarterback sacks. Declared for NFL and was drafted in the 5th round by the San Francisco 49ers. Lynch is expected to start at Outside Linebacker for 49ers in 2015.
16. De’Anthony Thomas – Oregon (5-9, 160) Ath, Los Angeles, California: ‘The Black Momba’
struck fear in the hearts of most that tried to tackle him in the open field. Thomas declared early for the NFL and was selected by the Kansas City Chiefs in the 4th round where he returns punts and kicks and plays a Wide Receiver/Running Back hybrid position. Great and exciting player.
17. Tim Jernigan – Florida State (6-2, 275) DT, Lake City, Florida: Jernigan was the catalyst of the Seminole defense on their championship run. Great run stuffer and overall Defensive Lineman. He was drafted in the 2nd round by the Baltimore Ravens and made the All-Rookie team. Might be the best player in this class outside of Sammy Watkins.
18. Jay Rome – Georgia (6-5, 230) TE, Valdosta, Georgia: 30 career catches for Georgia at Tight End in 3 seasons. Good player, but has been passed by super freshman Jeb Blazevich.
19. Ha’Sean Clinton-Dix – Alabama (6-2, 194) S, Orlando, Florida: Known more commonly as Ha Ha Clinton-Dix and was the 12th player picked in last year’s NFL Draft. Currently starts at Safety for the Green Bay Packers.
20. Nick O’Leary – Florida State (6-4, 230) TE, Palm Beach Gardens, Florida: Clearly everyone knows he is the grandson of the greatest golfer that ever lived, Jack Nicklaus and has been the top Tight End in college football for the past couple of seasons. He is not viewed by the NFL as the top Tight End available, but should still be picked fairly early.
21. Quandre Diggs – Texas (5-10, 190) CB, Angleton, Texas: 4 year starter for Texas. 5-10 is a bit of a stretch, but a tough guy. Actually was a lot better as a true freshman which demonstrates how poor the coaching situation has been at Texas which hopefully Charlie Strong can fix.
22. Xzavier Dickson – Alabama (6-4, 242) DE, Griffin, Georgia: Huge Outside Linebacker for the Tide. His best season was his last and he’s expected to be a late round draft pick.
23. Devon Blackmon – Oregon (6-0, 180) Ath, Fontana, California: Signed with Oregon, but never played and transferred to BYU and caught 10 passes in 2014. Safe to label a bust? He has one more season.
24. Anthony Chickillo – Miami (6-3, 240) DE, Tampa, Florida: Chickillo was a good 4 year player for the Hurricanes. Totaled 15.5 Quarterback sacks over that 4 year period with his freshman season being his best. Has grown to 6-4, 282.
25. Bobby Hart – Florida State (6-5, 298) OT, Fort Lauderdale, Florida: Started 9 games as a true freshman and 37 starts over his 4 year career. He will be missed at Florida State.
