All SEC Team 2014

QB: Dak Prescott – Mississippi State: (6-2, 230) Junior, Haughton, Louisiana. Prescott threw for 2,996 yards and 24 Touchdowns. On the ground, he gained 939 yards on 195 carries and 13 Touchdowns. Prescott led his Mississippi State Bulldogs to it’s first ever number 1 ranking and is one of the top candidates for the Heisman Trophy in 2014.

RB: Cameron Artis-Payne  – Auburn:(5-11, 210) Senior, Harrisburg, cameron artis-paynePennsylvania. Leading rusher in the SEC in 2014 with 1,482 yards on the ground and 11 Touchdowns. He also had 12 receptions

for another 129 yards. Very good inside runner.

RB: Alex Collins – Arkansas: (5-11, 215) Sophomore, Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Collins started off like he was shot out of a cannon and had 212 yards rushing in the team’s 3rd game. But, as the season carried on, his production decreased. He did manage to rush for 1,024 yards carrying the ball 187 times. He scored 12 Touchdowns at 5.48 yards per carry.

RB: Jonathan Williams – Arkansas: (6-0, 225) Junior, Allen, Texas. The Arkansas Razorbacks managed a very rare feat with 2 Running Backs gaining over a 1,000 yards in the same season. They shared the ball almost equally with Collins getting 187 carries and Williams 188.Williams had 1,085 yards and 11 Touchdowns this season. Williams and Collins are the best 1-2 combo in the country.

RB: Nick Chubb – Georgia: Freshman (5-10, 230) Cedartown, Georgia. No Todd Gurley, no problem for the Georgia Bulldogs. They have a freshman named Nick Chubb. Chubb is a powerful runner in a compact Fullback body with plenty of speed. Chubb filled in for Gurley admirably and ran for 1,281 yards and 12 Touchdowns. He also had 18 receptions for 213 yards and 2 more

Touchdowns. Nick Chubb is one of the frontrunners for National Freshman of the Year honors.

RB: Josh Robinson – Miss State: (5-9, 215) Franklinton, Louisiana. Robinson was one of the top players for the once #1 ranked Bulldogs. He rushed for 1,128 yards on 177 carries at 6.37 yards per carry and 11 Touchdowns. Many of those 1,128 rushing yards he had were shown on highlight videos. Robinson also had 28 catches good for 370 yards and another Touchdown.

WR: Amari Cooper – Alabama: Junior (6-1, 210) Miami, Florida. Best player in the SEC and I am not sure it’s even open for debate. Cooper no doubt will bolt for the NFL after this season and he had an incredible junior season. Cooper was second in the country in receiving yardage only behind Rashard Higgins of Colorado State. He was 4th in number of receptions with 103 which led to 1,573 yards and 14 Touchdowns. Amari Cooper was simply incredible all season long and should be a Heisman candidate.

WR: Bud Sasser – Missouri: Senior (6-2, 210) Denton, Texas. Missouri took a huge hit when they lost top Wide Receiver Dorial Green- Beckham. Plus, everybody counted them out in the SEC and yet they are in the SEC Championship game yet again. Bud Sasser picked it up and became Maty Mauk’s go to guy this season with 65 receptions for 904 yards and 9 Touchdowns. Another great and yet surprising season for the Missouri Tigers and Bud Sasser was a major reason why.

WR: Pharoh Cooper – South Carolina: Sophomore (5-11, 200) Havelock, North Carolina.  South Carolina won 11 games for 3 years in a row, so this season was a huge letdown for them. Cooper had a great Sophomore season catching 60 passes for 966 yards and 8 Touchdowns. His talents did not stop there. Cooper ran for right under 200 yards and scored 2 more Touchdowns. Cooper completed 5 out of 8 passes for 78 yards, and another 2 Touchdowns. Cooper also returned punts. Cooper is an explosive player with a very bright future beyond South Carolina.

TE:  Steven Scheu – Vanderbilt: (6-5, 250)  Evansville, Indiana. One of the few bright spots for Vanderbilt in a very disappointing post James Franklin season. Scheu caught 39 passes for 525 yards and 4 Touchdowns. Good blocker as well as receiver.

OT: Cedric Ogbuehi – Texas A%M: Senior (6-5, 300) Allen, Texas. The Aggies have had a run lately with Offensive Tackles picked early in the NFL draft and Ogbuehi is supposed to be the next guy. His stock has dropped a bit during his senior season, but he’s still good enough to make All SEC.

OT: John Theus – Georgia: Junior (6-6, 315) Jacksonville, Georgia. The Bulldogs had one of the top running games in the country this season and Theus is a major reason why. Excellent blocker for both the pass and the run and should make a great NFL player.

OT: La’el Collins – LSU: Senior (6-5, 320) Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Outstanding Left Tackle for the LSU Tigers and a top run blocker. One of the top NFL prospects at Tackle. Road grader and top run blocker.

OT: Dan Skipper- Arkansas: Sophomore (6-10, 315) Arvada, Colorado. Much taller than the normal Offensive Tackle but also very agile and mobile. One of the leaders on one of the best and the biggest Offensive Lines in the country.

OG: Arie Kouandijo _ Alabama: Senior (6-5, 315) Hyattsville, Maryland. This guy is as difficult to get around for defenders as his name is hard to spell. Excellent Offensive Guard and leader that should play a while in the NFL.

OG: Denver Kirkland- Arkansas: Sophomore (6-5, 335) Miami, Florida. Kirkland is awesome and started right away last season as a true freshman. One of the leaders on a truly outstanding Offensive Line.

OG: AJ Cann – South Carolina: Senior (6-4, 310) Bamberg, South Carolina. In spite of a bad season for the Gamecocks, Cann was still one of the most consistent and best Offensive Linemen in the SEC. Redshirted his freshman season, but started 4 years at Offensive Guard.

OG: Ben Beckwith – Miss State. Senior (6-3, 295) Benton, Mississippi. Beckwith is a former walk on that played his way into the starting line up and earned a scholarship. Opened holes for Josh Robinson and Dak Prescott.

C: David Andrews – Georgia: Senior (6-2, 295) Johns Creek, Georgia. Tremendous leader for one of the nation’s better Offensive Lines. Another Center in the SEC gets all the ink but for my money Andrews is the better player.

DE: Alvin Dupree – Kentucky: Senior (6-4, 265) Irwinton, Georgia. Dupree is one of the nation’s best defenders. Dupree was second on the Wildcats team in tackles with 74 including 12.5 tackles for losses and 7.5 sacks. Dupree also had 1 interception which he returned for a Touchdown. This guy was busy with 1 blocked kick, a pass knocked down, 5 Quarterback hurries and 2 forced fumbles.

DE: Trey Flowers- Arkansas: Senior (6-3, 270) Huntsville, Alabama. Flowers is one of the better defensive players in the country and a top Defensive End. Flowers was the team’s 3rd leading tackler with 63 total. He had 5 Quarterback sacks, plus another 9 Quarterback hurries. Flowers had 13.5 tackles for losses and he broke up 6 passes. Flowers is one of those guys that when you watch the Arkansas Razorbacks, you see Trey Flowers all over the field. Very aggressive player and fun to watch.

DE: Shane Ray- Missouri: Junior (6-3, 245) Kansas City, Missouri. Pass rusher extraordinaire. He had 12 Quarterback sacks and 5 more Quarterback hurries. Ray was 5th on the team in total tackles with 59 and he had an amazing 20.5 tackles for losses. Ray forced 2 fumbles and blocked a kick. Teamed with Markus Golden to form one of the better Defensive End tandems in the country.

DE: Dante Fowler Jr – Florida: Junior (6-3, 260) St Petersburg, Florida. Fowler was a very productive player for the Gators and has already declared for the NFL Draft. He had 57 tackles, 12 tackles for losses and 5.5 sacks. Fowler has another 15 Quarterback hurries so he practically lived in the opponents backfield in every game. He also forced a couple of fumbles

DT: A’Shawn Robinson – Alabama: Sophomore (6-4, 320) Fort Worth, Texas. Robinson had a less impressive season in 2014 than he did in 2013, but he is still so dominating and intimidating. Super strong and has excellent quickness for a very large man. Robinson had 38 total tackles and 3.5 tackles for losses. He also had 2 passes broken up, 3 Quarterback hurries, forced a fumble and blocked a kick.

DT: Robert Nkemdiche – Ole Miss: Sophomore (6-4, 280) Loganville, Georgia. The numbers don’t back his selection up, but he was a presence all year and drew many double teams and changed the course of many plays. Nkemdiche had 33 total tackles including 3 tackles for losses and 2 Quarterback sacks. Like A’Shawn Robinson, Nkemdiche is an intimidating figure and his very presence on the field changes offensive options.

DT: Jarran Reed – Alabama: Junior (6-4, 315) Goldsboro, North Carolina. Reed was one of the more productive Defensive tackles in the nation with 47 total tackles. Red was more effective against the run than the pass with only 1 Quarterback sack. However, Reed did have 4.5 tackles for losses and 5 passes broken up.

DT: Harold Brantley – Missouri: Sophomore (6-3, 290) Hershey, Pennsylvania. Brantley was one of the more productive Defensive Tackles around with 45 total tackles. Brantley had 6.5 tackles for losses and 4.5 sacks. He had another 7 Quarterback hurries and a blocked kick.

Very stout against the run.

LB: Bernardrick McKinney – Miss State: Junior (6-5, 250) Tunica, Mississippi.  McKinney is a brick wall at Middle Linebacker and a beast. This guy is only a junior but he has to come out early because he will be a top pick. I would be shocked if he didn’t go very high in the NFL Draft. McKinney led his team in tackles with 61, with 8 of those being for losses. He also had 3

Quarterback sacks, 1 fumble return, 3 Quarterback hurries, 4 passes broken up, and 1 fumble forced. Great season for McKinney and his teammates and there’s no way he’s coming back for his senior season.

LB: AJ Johnson – Tennessee: Senior (6-2,245) Gainesville, Georgia. Johnson was a beast for the Volunteers this season and led his team in tackles. He missed 2 games due to injury or his states would have been even better. Johnson had 101total tackles and an interception. He had 9 tackles for losses and made those tackles very viciously. AJ Johnson had 2 sacks, 2 passes broken up, 2 fumbles forced, and 5 Quarterback hurries. When you throw in a blocked kick, then you have a very impressive year for AJ Johnson. Too bad he is a senior because the Vols could use him again next season to continue to help with their rebuilding efforts.

LB: Josh Forrest – Kentucky: Junior (6-3,235) Paducah, Kentucky. Forrest is a former Wide Receiver that still displays the athleticism leftover from his pass catching days. He led the Wildcats in tackles this season with 110 total. Forrest also had 2 Interceptions one of which went for a Touchdown. He also had 8.5 tackles for losses, had a sack and  a fumble forced. Along with all of that he had 2 passes broken up and 2 Quarterback hurries. Very productive player for the Wildcats.

LB: Reggie Ragland- Alabama: Junior (6-2, 255) Madison, Alabama. Ragland leads the Alabama defense in tackles with 84. 8.5 of those tackles were for losses and he had 1.5 Quarterback sacks. Ragland had an Interception, and broke up 3 passes. Plus, he hurried the Quarterback once and had a fumble forced.

CB: Vernon Hargreaves III – Florida: Sophomore (5-11, 195) Tampa, Florida. Many consider Hargreaves one of the top Cornerbacks in the country. He had 45 total tackles including 2 for losses and he broke up 13 passes. Hargreaves had 2 Interceptions

CB: Senquez Golson – Ole Miss: (5-9, 175) Pascagoula, Mississippi. Undersized but very productive Cornerback for Ole Miss. Led the league in interceptions with 9 and 1 returned for a Touchdown. Besides being an excellent cover Cornerback, Golson also had 41 total tackles and 3 tackles for losses. Golson broke up 8 passes and even had 2 Quarterback hurries. Excellent season for the Ole Miss defense and unfortunately they lost 3 games.

CB: Jamerson Love – Miss State: Senior (5-10, 175) Aberdeen, Mississippi. Excellent cover corner for the Bulldogs. Love had 33 total tackles, and 3 tackles for losses. Love broke up 9 passes and had a Quarterback hurry plus half a sack.

CB: Johnathon Ford – Auburn: Sophomore (6-0, 200) Big Cove, Alabama. Jones led the Auburn Tigers in total tackles with 84. The Auburn Tigers had a bit of a disappointing season compared to last year, but Jones did not have a let down. Ford picked off 3 passes, and he had 1.5 tackles for loss and half a sack. He also broke up a pass, hurried the Quarterback and forced a fumble.

DB: Cody Prewitt – Ole Miss: Senior (6-2, 215) Bay Springs, Mississippi. Prewitt has been one of the top Safeties in the SEC and in the country for the past couple of years. His Interception numbers are down this season from last in which he picked off 6 total passes. This season, he only has 2 passes picked off, but one of those was a 98 yard return for a score. Prewitt has 11 career Interceptions over 4 seasons. Not just an Interception machine, Prewitt also had 60 tackles and 3.5 of those for losses and 2 passes broken up and 1 forced fumble. The man is a player.

DB: Landon Collins – Alabama: Junior (6-0, 220) New Orleans, La. Collins is a big and powerful safety and had 83 tackles so far this season which is just 1 behind team leader and middle linebacker, Reggie Ragland. Collins had 3 Interceptions and 2.5 tackles for losses. Collins broke up 6 passes as well and should go fairly high in next year’s NFL Draft. Great player.

DB: AJ Stamps – Kentucky: Junior (6-0, 200) Vicksburg, Mississippi. Stamps had a good year at Safety for the Wildcats. He was 5th on the team in tackles with 56 total and 1 of those was for a loss. Stamps led his team in Interceptions with 4. He also had 1 Quarterback hurry and 5 passes broken up.

Freshman of the Year: Cam Robinson- Alabama Offensive Tackle. Best freshman Offensive Lineman to come around in years.

Offense: Cam Robinson – Alabama Offensive Tackle. Nick Chubb– Georgia: (5-10, 230) Cedartown, Georgia.

Defense: Myles Garrett – Texas A%M. (6-5, 255) Arlington, Texas. Pass rushing guru. Hard to stop off the corner.

Kicker: Josh Lambo – Texas A%M

Punter: JK Scott – Alabama

Kick Returner: Marcus Murphy – Missouri

Punt Returner: Quan Bray – Auburn

Coach: Gary Pinkel – Missouri
