2011 QB Recruiting Class and How They Did

I have always claimed I can do as well as the experts but lets see how they did with the QB class of 2011.

1. Jeff Driskel– Oviedo, Florida. (6-4,225) Signed with Florida. Big Driskel fan hedriskelre. Driskel had a good season in 2012, but broke his leg in 2013 and missed most of the season. Driskel has a great arm and great wheels and could have been a lot better in a different offense, in my opinion. Driskel has a new Offensive Coordinator coaching him this season and look for Florida to open up their offense this season. Give ESPN an A+ for this pick.

2. Kiehl Frazier– Springdale, Arkansas (6-3,215)  Frazier was considered the heir to Cam Newton at one point when he signed with Auburn and actually started some games in 2012. He was replaced part way through the season and moved around to different positions for Auburn. He transferred to Ouachita Baptist College in Arkansas which is a  DII school.

3. Max Wittek– Corona Del Mar, California Mater Dei HS (6-3,200) Signed with USC. Wittek was considered the replacement for Matt Barkley but when Barkley graduated Wittek lost the job to Cody Kessler. Wittek decided to transfer out of USC when he graduated in May. However, something happened keeping him from graduating. He may still show up somewhere and play but it won’t be at Texas, or Louisville or one of the bigger schools.

4. Braxton Miller– Huber Heights, Ohio (6-2,190) Not sure I really need to type out that he signed with Ohio State. Miller has been a stud since day one and will wind up throwing for 7,000 to 8,000 yards for the Buckeyes and running for nearly 4,000 yards possibly. Should make an NFL roster after this season.

5. Christian LeMay– Mint Hill North Carolina (6-2,195) Signed with Georgia. But, only threw 2 passes his entire time at Georgia. He has transferred to Jacksonville State. He was never going to beat out Andrew Murray, but he was passed on the depth chart by younger talent.

6. Brett Hundley– Chandler, Arizona (6-3,210) Has been a star at UCLA and is a Heisman candidate in 2014. With a great season in 2014, Hundley may reach 10,000 yards passing for the Bruins and he probably will hit 1,500 career rushing yards. Should be a high pick in next year’s NFL draft.

7. Bubba Starling– Gardner, Kansas (6-5, 195) Signed with Nebraska. Can’t really call him a bust since he signed a baseball contract with the Kansas City Royals. Who really knows how he would have done in football.

8. Jerrard Randall– Hollywood, Florida (6-1,190) Originally went to LSU. Transferred to a JC and then to Arizona where he is among 6 others competing for the starting QB job in 2014. You can call him a bust, but he still has one more shot at earning stardom. He is running out of time.

9. Teddy Bridgewater- Miami, Florida (6-2,180) Signed with Louisville and the rest is history. Was a 1st round draft pick although at one time he was supposed to be the very top QB picked. Threw for 9,817 yards at Louisville and 72 TDs. Have to say that the ESPN guys got this one right and 3 out of the top 10 were from the state of Florida.

10. J W Walsh – Denton, Texas. Very mobile and athletic QB for Oklahoma State. Has only been a part time starter, but not a bad player at all and could leave Oklahoma State with 4,000 to 5,000 passing yards.
