Jacob Eason Georgia Quarterback

Lying about attendance at Spring Games seems like the politically correct thing to do these days. But, the Georgia Bulldogs probably did have 93,000 Bulldog fans at their Spring Game.

They were there to see new head coach Kirby Smart.

But, judging from the roar that came up from the crowd when true freshman Quarterback Jacob Eason entered the game, a lot were there to see their new Quarterback.

Former Georgia head coach Mark Richt recruited Matthew Stafford from Dallas, Texas and he

recruited Aaron Murray from Tampa, Florida. Georgia fans know a thing or two about good Quarterbacks.

Watching Jacob Eason in the Spring Game, it appears that the Georgia Bulldogs have their next big thing at Quarterback.

Eason was the top rated Quarterback in this class, according to most of the recruiting services. The 6-6, 220 four star recruit from Lake Stevens, Washington is the son of former NFL Quarterback Tony Eason.

In four seasons on the varsity at Lake Stevens Eason threw for 9,813 yards and 102 Touchdowns. As a senior, alone, he threw for 3,585 yards and 43 Touchdowns.

Eason has a howitzer connected to his shoulder and can really fling it. But, he appears to have excellent touch on his passes as well. He was really accurate during his team’s Spring Game.

Eason isn’t much of a runner, but with his arm he may not need to run often.

Last season, the Bulldogs tried Greyson Lambert, Brice Ramsey and Faton Bauta with mixed results. Lambert had an incredible game against South Carolina when he completed 24 out of 25 passes for 330 yards and 3 Touchdowns. Other than that game, he left something to be desired for Georgia fans.

In the Spring Game, Ramsey looked much improved.

But, Jacob Eason looked really impressive.

We know nothing of Kirby Smart’s thoughts on playing a true freshman Quarterback. But, Jacob Eason could be this season’s Josh Rosen.

If I am Kirby Smart, I start Eason and run the ball with Nick Chubb, Sony Michel and other Running Backs and break Eason in slowly. He is definitely the future of Georgia Bulldog football.
