Trevor Lawrence Clemson Commit

With another year to go at Cartersville High School in Cartersville, Georgia, Trevor Lawrence has already been crowned the top Quarterback in the 2018 recruiting class. From what I have seen of Trevor Lawrence, he definitely deserves it.

247.com has him as their top recruit overall for their 2018 class. The 5 star senior to be has already committed to Clemson and the 6-5, 205 phenom seems pretty solid with his decision.

This kid is not a late bloomer and has been throwing the football accurately around for some time. As a high school freshman, Lawrence threw for 3,042 yards and 26 Touchdowns.

As a sophomore, Lawrence helped his team to a 15-0 record while throwing for 3,655 yards and 43 Touchdowns. His yardage would have been a lot better, but the games were not close and he didn’t

play much in some of them.

For his junior year, Lawrence threw for 3,904 yards and 51 Touchdowns. Like his sophomore season, the Cartersville High School Hurricanes finished unbeaten as state champions.

With one year of high school football remaining, Trevor Lawrence has 10,601 yards and 120 Touchdowns. His high school football team has not lost a game since his freshman year and it should be more of the same in 2017. With a little luck, Lawrence could finish his high school career with 15,000 passing yards.

There’s so much more to being a great Quarterback than the strong arm, such as making quick decisions, being a leader, quick release, calmness under pressure and I could go on and on. Lawrence seems to have it all. He’s definitely a cool kid that makes big play after big play. In what I have seen from him, Lawrence may not be a sprinter, but he has an unbelievably quick spin move that leaves defenders grabbing at air. He can pass from the pocket, but he can also throw on the run. Just start naming off the intangibles and Lawrence has them.

I really love USC commit Matt Corral, who will play at the talent producing Long Beach Poly this season, and I might blog about him later. But, Trevor Lawrence is just an incredible prospect at Quarterback. At 6-5, you would think he is too thin at 205 and he’s really not and he has the frame to add plenty of weight.

Another thing to like about Lawrence is his lack of fear about competition. Clemson returns quite a few Quarterbacks all trying to replace 1st round draft pick, Deshaun Watson. Repeat?

Not only do they have a lot of Quarterbacks, one of the newest additions is last year’s number 1

Quarterback prospect in Hunter Johnson. Trevor Lawrence is not scared of any of those other Quarterbacks which reeks of confidence and assurance in his own talents.

Clemson has it all on both sides of the line of scrimmage. Their offense only really lacks a proven Quarterback and a truly great Running Back. Their defense just keeps on reloading year after year.

Trevor Lawrence is probably going to be the next big thing at Clemson, but we will have to wait until he finishes high school.
