Pharaoh Brown is Back and Dakota Prukop Arrives

In the 2014 football season, Pharaoh Brown was one of the top Tight Ends in the country. Hailing from Lyndhurst, Ohio the 6-6, 250 specimen of a Tight End was having a great season until he went up for a pass in the end zone and freakishly came down on another player’s foot and was severely injured.

It was so bad that not only did they think that Brown would not play again, Doctors were even afraid he may never walk correctly again. Read more about Pharaoh Brown here: Pharaoh Brown

The injury occurred in the 10th game of the season and he missed the rest of the year including the

first ever college football playoffs.

Brown missed the entire 2015 season, but he worked so hard to try and get back to the game.

On Saturday, September 3rd, 2016 Pharoah Brown returned to the Oregon Ducks lineup. Brown only caught 1 pass which was good for 25 yards. Oregon fans went wild. Good for them for honoring a guy that has been through so much and hopefully he will catch a lot more passes in 2016.

Oregon fans also welcomed new starting Quarterback Dakota Prukop.

Oregon Quarterback Marcus Mariota won the Heisman Trophy in the 2014 season. During the 2015 season, the Ducks used graduate transfer Vernon Adams Jr from Eastern Washington. Adams had a good season in leading the Ducks to a 9-4 year. But, he was a senior in eligibility and the Ducks had to start all over again this year.

They were fortunate to land another graduate transfer in Dakota Prukop. Originally from Austin, Texas Prukop played at Montana State, before he decided to prove himself against the big boys. A lot of schools were interested in him, but ultimately he chose the Ducks of Oregon.
The job wasn’t just handed to him. He had to beat out freshmen Justin Herbert, Travis Jonsen and Terry Miller, and both are extremely talented but inexperienced Quarterbacks. But, the future of

Oregon football will be bright with either of these guys.

Oregon had a supposed easy game scheduled with the University of California Davis. It didn’t turn into the gimme game that most had expected.

Davis put up a fight.

In his first major college football action, Prukop completed 21 out of 30 passes for 271 yards and 3 Touchdowns. He also did not throw any Interceptions.

Prukop is extremely athletic, but he only managed to run for 36 yards from 11 carries and he scored a Touchdown.

Super Oregon Running Back Royce Freeman only ran for 87 yards. Part of that was that the coaches did not feed him the ball very often. But, also, the reason he did not break the standard 100 yards rushing barrier and Prukop only ran for 36 yards is because of painful inexperience in the Offensive Line.

Star Left Tackle Tyrell Cosby returned from last year as did 4 year starter Cameron Hunt at Right Guard. But, the other 3 starters are redshirt freshmen.

Stanford, or Washington are expected to win the Pac 12 this season. But, don’t count out the Oregon Ducks especially if Dakota Prukop comes through and the Offensive Line plays well together.
