So, You Think the City of Miami Does Not Produce Football Players?

Florida State sophomore Running Back Dalvin Cook is the Seminoles top Running Back. For long time Florida State rival, the Miami Hurricanes, their best Running Back this season is sophomore Joseph Yearby.

Not only did both of them play on the same high school football team at Miami Central, but they were both top 5 in the nation in all of the recruiting rankings for Running Backs.

Same high school, same position, same class and same type of talent.

Also in the city of Miami in this same class alone are other talented recruits. Defensive End Chad Thomas from Booker T Washington was one of the top recruits at his position and is also at Miami.

Offensive Lineman Trevor Darling who started as a true freshman for the Hurricanes in 2014 was a blocker for the Cook and Yearby duo.

Florida Quarterback Treon Harris from Booker T Washington was Florida’s Quarterback part of the time a year ago and started for them in their first game this season.

Demetrius Jackson another Defensive End from Booker T Washington joined his teammate Chad Thomas at Miami and has actually done better for the Hurricanes so far this season.

Miami Central and Booker T Washington are not the only high schools in town, with Miami Northwestern producing Linebacker Mike Smith who also signed with Miami.

Nigel Bethel is a Cornerback from Booker T Washington that signed with Texas Tech for some reason. Maybe he sees instant playing time in Lubbock, Texas.

Miami Jackson produced Dual Threat Quarterback Quinton Flowers is a 3 star that signed with South Florida.

JoJo Robinson signed with Arkansas after finishing up his high school playing days at Northwestern High School in Miami.

Deatrick Nicholls is a Cornerback prospect that signed with South Florida.

Ryan Mayes is another Cornerback that played at Northwestern and signed with the Miami Hurricanes.

North Miami Beach High School produced Steve Ishmael  a Wide Receiver that signed with Syracuse. Kendrick Edwards is a 6-6 talent from Miami Norland High Schoo and he signed with Arkansas.

These are just top 100 recruit types out of the city of Miami. This does not include any of the other suburbs, or cities in South Florida or any other schools in Florida. St Thomas Aquinas High School in Ft Lauderdale is not mentioned here, nor is Homestead, or Jascksonville Raines, or so many other talent producing schools in the state of Florida.

There is also 3 star Wide Receiver Lamar Parker that signed with West Virginia and is out of Booker T Washington.

Michael Smith is a giant Offensive Guard from Central High School that is going to South Florida. Gulliver Prep is another high school in Miami that sent yet another Wide Receiver to Arkansas in .

From Killian High School in Miami another Cornerback named Trumaine Washington signed with Louisville.

Florida State landed Defensive Tackle Frederick Johnson from Central High.

Stanley Clearveaux played at North Miami and signed as a Wide Receiver  with South Florida.

The high schools in Florida are just loaded with talent and this is just one recruiting class.

But, the most impressive thing in this football freak’s eyes is that two Running Backs could be from the same class and in the same school and now a couple of the better young Running Backs in college football.

Right now, Dalvin Cook at Florida State is a little better than his old teammate Joseph Yearby, but both of them appear to have bright futures if they can stay out of trouble.

If colleges don’t have at least one or two of their coaches working nothing else but South Florida and the city of Miami, maybe they should be fired.
