All Pac 12

QB: Marcus Mariota – Oregon: Junior (6-4, 220) Honolulu, Hawaii. Mariota should be 2014’s Heisman Trophy winner. Mariota threw for 3,773 yards this season on 254 completions in 372 attempts. What’s really impressive about Mariota’s numbers is 38 Touchdown passes against only 2 Interceptions. Really impressive numbers Mariota has produced over the last 3 years with 10,125 yards passing with 101 Touchdowns and only 12 Interceptions. marcus mariotaMariota has near sprinter’s speed and ran for 669 yards on 117 attempts and had 14 more Touchdowns. Mariota has 2,136 career rushing yards and 28 Touchdowns. Mariota could be the top draft pick in next year’s NFL Draft.

QB: Cody Kessler – USC: Junior (6-1, 210) Bakersfield, California. Kessler has been something of a pleasant surprise this season and has had a special year. He completed 292 passes out of 413 attempts which went for 3,505 yards and 36 Touchdowns against only 4 Interceptions. The Trojans had an extremely young Offensive Line so Kessler was sacked quite a few times leading to a negative 149

yards rushing, but he is a mobile Quarterback and ran for 2 more Touchdowns. Kessler more than likely returns for his senior season and should be the best Quarterback in the Pac 12.

RB: Paul Perkins – UCLA: Sophomore (5-11, 200) Queen Creek, Arizona. UCLA was a huge disappointment this season, but Perkins did more than his share. I wrote about Perkins before the season started because of his ability to pick up the blitz, but this season Perkins also ran for 1,381 yards and 7 Touchdowns. He had another 26 receptions for 201 yards and 2 more Touchdowns, plus he continued with his superior blocking in the backfield.

RB: Javorious ‘Buck’ Allen – USC: Junior (6-1, 220) Tallahasee, Florida. Hard running power back that has a little speed as well. Allen ran the ball 1,337 yards on 250 carries for 9 Touchdowns. A good receiver out of the backfield as well, catching 40 passes for 442 yards and 2 Touchdowns. Buck Allen is another guy that will more than likely declare for the NFL Draft and leave early.

RB: Devontae Booker – Utah: Junior (5-11, 205) Sacramento, California. Booker carried the football 266 times for 1,350 yards and 9 Touchdowns. He also caught 38 passes for 287 yards and 2 more Touchdowns.

WR: Nelson Agholer – USC: Junior (6-1, 190) Tampa, Florida. Should it be surprising that 3 of the top players for the Trojans are juniors from Florida? Agholer is an explosive Wide Receiver with 97 catches in 2014. His receptions were good for 1,223 yards and 11 Touchdowns. Agholer shows his explosiveness with his punt returns averaging 10.61 yards and scoring 2 Touchdowns. He will be really popular with NFL scouts and declare early for the next level.

WR: Cayleb Jones – Arizona:  Sophomore (6-3, 215) Austin, Texas. Jones is a transfer from Texas where he was highly recruited and considered one of the best in the state of Texas. In his first season at Arizona, he caught 65 passes for 902 yards and 9 Touchdowns. Jones only returned 1 Kickoff, but he took it for a Touchdown. Arizona will have one of the better groups of Wide Receivers in the country next season.

WR: Vince Mayle – Washington State: Senior (6-3, 220) Natomas, California. Big receiver with good hands and a lot of speed. Mayle was 240 last season, but dropped 20 pounds. He had 106 receptions in 2014 which were good for 1,483 yards and 9 Touchdowns. Mayle could run the 40 in the 4.4s even though he weighed 240 last year.

WR: Nelson Spruce – Colorado: Junior (6-1, 195) Westlake Village, California. Spruce was the Colorado big play guy this season replacing Paul Richardson from last season. Spruce had 106 catches while gaining 1,198 yards and scoring 12 Touchdowns. Spruce returned punts and also completed 2 out of 2 pass attempts for 24 yards and a Touchdown.

WR: Jaelen Strong – Arizona State: Junior (6-3, 215) Philadelphia, Pa. Strong is a big play kind of guy and one of the best Wide Receivers in the entire country. Strong had 75 receptions for 1,062 yards and 10 Touchdowns. His best play of the season may have come against USC when Strong caught a Hail Mary to win the game for his Sun Devils. Look for him to declare for the NFL and become a star there.

TE: Austin Hooper – Stanford: Sophomore (6 -4, 250) San Ramon, California. Stanford is one of the top producers of Tight Ends and one of the few schools around that still use that position. There are 6 Stanford Tight Ends in the NFL ahead of even Notre Dame which has 5. Austin Hooper had 35 receptions for 428 yards and 2 Touchdowns. Obviously, playing at Stanford, Hooper is a dependable blocker in the run game.

OT: Andrus Peat- Stanford: Junior (6-7, 315) Chandler, Arizona. Some people like the Texas A%M Offensive Tackle and some like the one from Iowa, but Peat is as good or better than those guys. He might be the first Offensive Tackle taken in next year’s draft. He’s huge and has a big frame and has flawless technique.

OT: Mickey Baucus – Arizona: Senior (6-8, 295) Mundelein, Illinois. Redshirted as a freshman and then started 4 years for the Arizona Wildcats. Best Offensive Lineman usually plays at Left Tackle and Baucus has started there for 4 years. Baucus is not one of the top rated Offensive Tackles by NFL scouts, but he has been productive at the college level.

OT: Jamil Douglas – Arizona State: Senior (6-4, 300) Cypress, California. Douglas played Guard the last few years but moved to Left Tackle this season. This guy is something of a legend in the weight room and can run the 40 in under 5.0 which is outstanding for a 300 pound man. Probably he moves back to Guard in the NFL but just that he can move to Left Tackle and perform well at this level says a lot about his athleticism.

OG: Joshua Garnett – Stanford: Junior (6-5, 325) Puyallup, Washington. Even though Stanford struggled this season, Garnett was a preseason all Pac 12 selection and lived up to the billing, in my opinion. Excellent Offensive Guard and good run blocker. Played in the Offensive Line and at Fullback as a true freshman.

OG: Cayman Bundage – Arizona: Junior (6-2, 280) Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Slightly undersized Guard, but outstanding run blocker. Uses leverage to his advantage and is very effective blocker. Bundage will be a 4 year starter for the Wildcats which isn’t bad for an undersized fella.

OG: Hamani Stevens – Oregon: Senior (6-3, 305) Hemet, California. 5th year senior has been at Oregon seemingly forever but has only started 2 years. Hard worker and excellent leadership skills. Good in run or pass blocking.

C: Hroniss Grasu – Oregon: Senior (6-3, 297) Los Angeles, California. Grasu was injured for part of the season, but is still considered one of the top Centers in the nation.

DE: Hau’oli Kikaha- Washington: Senior (6-3, 245) Laie, Hawaii. Kikaha is a Defensive End/Outside Linebacker hybrid type of player who is sensational off the corner. Led the nation in Quarterback sacks as a senior producing 18. Kikaha had 67 total tackles, and an astounding 24 tackles for losses. Kikaha is the kind of player that opposing teams had to scheme for every week and they still couldn’t stop him. He’s not idea size for NFL, but this guy’s motor never stops.

DE: Nate Orchard – Utah: Senior (6-4, 255) Salt Lake City, Utah. Orchard had an amazing season finishing the regular year with 17.5 Quarterback sacks and 81 total tackles which was good for 2nd place on his team. Orchard had 20 tackles for losses and forced 2 fumbles. He played against some quality Offensive Tackles and they barely were able to contain him.

DE: DeForest Buckner – Oregon: Junior (6-7, 290) Waianae, Hawaii. Buckner teamed with giant Arik Armstead to form maybe the biggest set of Defensive Ends in the country. Buckner was far more productive between the two and I first took notice against Michigan State and I may be late to the party. Buckner had 68 total tackles with 11.5 of those being for loss and 4 Quarterback sacks. He also had 2 passes broken up and 3 Quarterback hurries and he forced a fumble.

DT: Leonard Williams- USC: Junior (6-5, 300) Daytona Beach, Florida. Williams is an absolute

monster at his DE/DT position and was second on the team in tackles in 2014 with 71. Not that many Defensive Linemen are near the top of the tackle chart on their defense, but Leonard Williams is that good. Williams had 6 sacks and 8.5 tackles for loss, plus an interception and 3 forced fumbles. There’s no way this guy comes back for his senior season and he should be among the top players picked in next year’s draft adding to the Trojans nation leading number 1 draft picks list.

DT: Danny Shelton- Washington: Senior (6-2, 340) Auburn, Washington. Probably the most productive Defensive Tackle in the nation. Moves really well for a huge man. Shelton was second on the team in tackles with 89. He had 16.5 tackles for losses and 9 Quarterback sacks which is very impressive for a large Defensive Tackle. Shelton had 2 fumble recoveries as well. He’s a little on the shorter side, but moves so well it may not be a hindrance for NFL scouts.

DT: Henry Anderson – Stanford: Senior (6-6, 290) Atlanta, Georgia. Plays Defensive End in the 3-4 defense. Very productive player that probably won’t test well for NFL scouts, but just gets it done. Anderson has a motor that seemingly never stops and finished the 2014 season with 62 tackles and 13.5 of those being for losses. Anderson also had 9 Quarterback hurries along with 7 Quarterback sacks, plus 2 passes broken up. He’s been one of the Stanford defensive heart and soul players the last few years and will be greatly missed.

LB: Hayes Pullard- USC: Senior (6-1, 235) Inglewood, California. Led the team in tackles this season with 87. He also had 5.5 tackles for loss and 8 passes broken up. Plus, he had an interception and a fumble recovery. The Trojans have a lot of young talent, but they will miss Hayes Pullard.

LB: Scooby Wright- Arizona: Sophomore (6-1, 245) Windsor, California. Wright was one of the best and most productive players in the country in 2014. Wright had 153 tackles, with a whopping 28 tackles for losses. He also had 14 sacks and an amazing 6 fumbles forced. Scooby Wright is all over the field in every game the Arizona Wildcats play and one of the better Linebackers in the country.

LB: Shaq Thompson- Washington: Junior (6-1, 230) Sacramento, California. Shaq Thompson is this year’s version of Myles Jack. Thompson moved to offense later in the season and ran for 456 yards on 61 carries and 2 Touchdowns. Maybe the reason that put him on offense is that he had 3 fumble returns for Touchdowns. To add to his reputation, he also had 1 Interception that he ran back for a Touchdown. Shaq Thompson is a pretty amazing defensive player and not too bad on offense. He had 70 total tackles, 2 tackles for losses, and 1 sack. He also had 4 pas break ups and 2 fumbles forced.

LB: Blake Martinez – Stanford: Junior (6-2, 245) Tucson, Arizona. Martinez led the Cardinal defense in tackles this past season with 95 total. He had 3 Interceptions, 6 tackles for losses, and 4.5 quarterback sacks. Martinez didn’t stop there and had 2 passes broken up, 4 Quarterback hurries and 2 forced fumbles. These Stanford guys are fun to support with guys like Martinez being a Management Science and Engineering major. The Nerd Nation lives on.

CB: Ifo Ekpre-Olomu- Oregon: Senior (5-10, 195) Chino Hills, California. Considered by many as one of the very best Cornerbacks in the country. I would prefer his name be Sammie Smith so a lazy tongued fella like myself could say his name easier, but the guy can play. He had 63 total tackles on the season with 2 Interceptions and 9 passes broken up. Ekpre-Olomu didn’t have the greatest of senior seasons and some of his being chosen for this list is his overall play from earlier in his career. Washington State kind of made him look bad, but he is still a good player.

CB: Ishmael Adams -UCLA: Sophomore  (5-8, 190) Woodland Hills, California. Not only is

Adams one of the premier Cornerbacks in the country, but he is also one of the top return men. As a Corner, Adams had 39 total tackles, 1 tackle for loss and 4 pass break ups. He had 2 Interceptions and both of them went back for Touchdowns. As a punt returner, he averaged 9.6 per return, but he had several Touchdowns called back and another game his punt return set up the Bruins for the win. He averaged 24.9 on Kickoff returns but took one back for a score, also.

CB: Eric Rowe – Utah: Senior (6-1, 200) Spring, Texas. Rowe moved to Cornerback his senior year after starting at Free Safety for 3 years. Big for a Cornerback and possessing 4.4 speed, Rowe responded with a big year. Rowe had 57 total tackles and 12 pass break ups. He only had 1 Interception but he returned it for a Touchdown. He blocked a kick, had a fumble return and 3 tackles for losses.

DB: Su’a Cravens- USC: Sophomore (6-1, 225) Los Angeles, California. Cravens is a Safety in a Linebacker’s body. This guy is all over the field and finished with 62 tackles, with 16 of those being for losses. He also had 5 Quarterback sacks and 2 Interceptions with 1 going for a Touchdown. Throw in 8 passes broken up and you have an All Conference season for Su’a Cravens.

DB: Jared Tevis – Arizona: Senior (5-11, 200) Tuscon, Arizona. Tevis is a former walk-on that played his way into the starting lineup and he earned a scholarship from the Wildcats. He was second on the team in tackles this season behind Scooby Wright. Tevis had 119 total tackles with 9 tackles for losses and 4 Quarterback sacks. Tevis also broke up 4 passes, and forced 2 fumbles. He came up with 2 interceptions including 1 that was a game saver at the end of the game.

DB: Damarious Randall – Arizona State: Senior (5-11, 190) Pensacola, Florida. Randall led his team in tackles with 101 this past season. Randall also had 3 Interceptions and returned 1 for an 89 yard Touchdown. He also had 9.5 tackles for losses and 1 sack, plus 8 passes broken up and 2 fumbles forced. Randall returned punts for the Sun Devils as well. I loved Randall’s comments about the Arizona weather when he stepped off of the airplane saying it felt like a giant hair dryer blowing on him that never stopped.

Freshman of the Year:

Offense: Royce Freeman – Oregon Running Back and JuJu Smith- USC Wide Receiver.

Defense: Budda Baker- Washington Safety and Adoree Jackson- USC Cornerback

Kicker: Cameron Van Wrinkle – Washington:

Punter: Tom Hackett – Utah:

Kick Returner: Adoree Jackson: USC:
