Durham Smythe Notre Dame

Notre Dame’s season has taken a bit of a turn after such high expectations. Before the year even got going, the Fighting Irish lost Defensive Tackle Jarron Jones and Defensive Back Shaun Crawford.

In game one, they lost their best Running Back for the season, Tarean Folston. In game two, they lost their star Quarterback Malik Zaire for the season.

Almost lost in all of the injury updates is the loss of up and coming star at Tight End, Durham Smythe. Against the Virginia Cavaliers the 6-4, 245 Tight End went down with a torn ACL.

This team is supposed to be the best in years in South Bend, but they are missing 5 starters already with a real quality team coming to town this weekend in Georgia Tech.

I’m not saying I have a history with Durham Smythe because I don’t know him, but I wrote in my blog about a game I was involved with in high school previously on my blog: Texas snow

Either Durham Smythe’s dad, or one of his uncles, was also out there in that freak storm that night so many years ago.

Hopefully, Smythe recovers nicely as do the other Notre Dame injured players and they don’t lose any more this season.
