Weak 2, ugh, Week 2 Predictions

Not my best work in week 1, but I still went 12 wins and 3 losses on my picks.

Thursday Night September 10th:

Louisiana Tech 1-0 at Western Kentucky 1-0: I am looking forward to this game because Florida transfer Quarterback Jeff Driskel is the starter at Louisiana Tech and he did fairly well in his first game there. Western Kentucky beat Vanderbilt in game one. I am thinking Western Kentucky might take them, but this could be a great game.

Friday Night September 11th:

Miami 1-0 at Florida Atlantic 0-1: Are the Hurricanes back?  I am thinking not, but Brad Kaaya is a talent at Quarterback and they should win here to go 2-0.

Utah State 1-0 at Utah 1-0: This is a tough game to pick, but I am going with the Utes of Utah because it’s at home and they are a pretty good team.

Saturday September 12th:

South Florida 1-0 at Florida State 1-0: Don’t laugh at South Florida, there’s a lot of talent in Southern Florida. The Seminoles will win and maybe big.

Oregon State 1-0 at Michigan 0-1: The Wolverines lost in week one, but they weren’t horrible other than some mistakes mostly by new Quarterback Jake Rudock. They should bounce back to beat the Beavers of Oregon State.

Bowling Green 0-1 at Maryland 1-0: Bowling Green got beat by Tennessee, but they gave the Vols some troubles. Maryland was not overly impressive against Richmond. I’m picking an upset here with Bowling Green surprising the Terrapins.

Houston 1-0 at Louisville 0-1: Louisville lost to Auburn last week, but hung tough. They bounce back and beat the Cougars this week.

Washington State 0-1 at Rutgers 1-0: Rutgers beat them last year and will do it again.

Tulane 0-1 at Georgia Tech 1-0:  The Yellow Jackets will run over the Green Wave of Tulane.

Notre Dame 1-0 at Virginia 0-1: The Cavaliers have a good club, but the Irish will win fairly big.

Georgia 1-0 at Vanderbilt 0-1: The Bulldogs should have a big game beating the Commodores.

Iowa 1-0 at Iowa State 1-0:  The Cyclones have been known to surprise the Hawkeyes, but I think the Hawks take it this time.

San Diego State 1-0 at California 1-0: The Cal Bears will continue to get better as long as Sonny Dykes is their coach. Look for the Bears to play well here and win big.

Oklahoma 1-0 at Tennessee 1-0: This should be a very good game, with the Sooners coming out with a hard fought win. The Vols gave up a lot against MAC opponent Bowling Green.

East Carolina at Florida 1-0: This is a rematch of last year’s bowl game which Florida won. The Gators should win again.

Memphis 1-0 at Kansas 0-1: My 6-7, 245 Quarterback Paxton Lynch didn’t have a chance to showcase his skills last week, but should give the Jawhawks fits this week and Memphis wins big.

Kentucky 1-0 at South Carolina 1-0: The Gamecocks bounced back from a slow start in week one and beat North Carolina. Kentucky expects to beat them, but I am going with Spurrier and his South Carolina Gamecocks.

Rice 1-0 at Texas 0-1: The Longhorns were not good at Notre Dame. Rice is another matter, but Driphus Jackson is a quality player for the Owls. Horns should bounce back and win. If not, Charlie Strong is in a lot of trouble.

Temple 1-0 at Cincinnati 1-0: The Temple Owls beat Penn State for the first time since 1941, but the Bearcats have a better offense. I think Cincinnati might take them.

LSU at Mississippi State 1-0: The Bulldogs were not overly impressive a week ago, but the Tigers were not able to play. There is something to be said about getting a first game under your belt and the biggest improvement in a team supposedly comes between the first and second game. LSU should beat them, but I am not that confident.

Boise State 1-0 at BYU 1-0: The Cougars of BYU shocked Nebraska last weekend with a Hail Mary win with no time left. I would take the Cowboys of Boise.

UCF 0-1 at Stanford 0-1: The Cardinal looked awful last week in Chicago losing to Northwestern, and the UCF Knights also lost a heart breaker by a point to Florida International. Look for the Cardinal to have learned their lesson last week and for them to win here.
