CFC Pre-season All American Team 2016

QB: Deshaun Watson – Clemson: The best Quarterback in the nation. After passing for over 4,000 yards and ran for over 1,000 yards as a sophomore and led his Tigers to the national title game. Watson is a special player with a strong arm and quick feet and he is one of the leading candidates for the Heisman Trophy.

QB: Josh Rosen – UCLA: Incredible freshman Quarterback last season that threw for over 3,600

yards. Unless the sophomore jinx gets Rosen, he should be dominating in 2016.

QB: Baker Mayfield – Oklahoma: Mayfield transformed the Sooners from a good team to a really good team and he led them to a Big 12 title and a playoff berth. They lost to Clemson, but Mayfield is a brilliant leader and player.

RB: Leonard Fournette – LSU: Take out the Alabama game and Fournette had an incredible sophomore season rushing for almost 2,000 yards. He should be one of the most productive Running Backs in the country and one of the leading candidates for the Heisman Trophy.

RB: Dalvin Cook – Florida State: Cook is one of the most explosive players in the country and one of the most exciting. The Seminoles are a different team when Cook is on the field and he did struggle with injuries a year ago. He still ran for just under 1,700 yards.

RB: Christian McCaffrey – Stanford: 2015’s sensation McCaffrey might have a tougher season in 2016 with the loss of most of his Offensive Line and Quarterback Kevin Hogan. He is still a talent and the Cardinal coaching staff always seem to come up with a really solid Offensive Line. Many think McCaffrey should have won the Heisman in 2015 and he is a leader this season as well.

RB: Royce Freeman – Oregon: With all of the attention on other Running Backs, Freeman is often forgotten. But, the 230 speedster is a power back that is very, very productive. He ran for over 1,800 yards in 2015.

RB: Nick Chubb – Georgia: Chubb was a freshman sensation in 2014. He was probably the top

power Running Back in the country as a freshman. A big guy with great speed, Chubb was on his way to another great season in 2015. But, he was injured against Tennessee and lost for the season. He should be back at full speed in 2016 which should be scary for SEC opponents.

WR: JuJu Smith-Schuster – USC: A super explosive star that will be in his third season as a starter. Smith-Schuster is big, fast and super talented.

WR: Cam Ridley – Alabama: As a true freshman, Ridley was one of the top players on the national championship team. Ridley is an outstanding young receiver with great speed. The Crimson Tide lost their best Wide Receiver from 2014 in Amari Cooper, but Ridley stepped right up as a true freshman and hauled in 89 receptions.

WR: Christian Kirk – Texas A%M: Kirk was another outstanding true freshman receiver hauling in 80 passes in 2015. But, Kirk was also a top punt returner taking 2 back for Touchdowns.

WR: Artivus Scott – Clemson: Scott is the leader of a very talented Wide Receiver corps on the Clemson team. He lead the team in receptions as a true freshman in 2014 and again in 2015 as a sophomore. He is tough and determined and with good hands.

TE: OJ Howard – Alabama: Howard only had 2 Touchdown receptions in 2015, but both came in a timely fashion as he caught 2 long Touchdown passes against Clemson in the championship game.

TE: Jake Butt – Michigan: The best overall Tight End in the country is Butt. He doesn’t have Howard’s speed, but he is fast enough and he is a great blocker, too.

TE: Bucky Hodges – Virginia Tech: Hodges is probably the most athletic Tight End in the country and he possesses the ability to make the big catches in a very acrobatic way. Hodges is a 6-7, 245 former Quarterback and it will be interesting to see how new Hokie coach Justin Fuente uses him.

OT: Cam Robinson – Alabama: Robinson got into some off field trouble over the past few months, but charges were dropped. He’s still the best Offensive Lineman in the country and he will be drafted really early in the next draft.

OT: Mitch Hyatt – Clemson: Hyatt was an outstanding true freshman Left Tackle for the Clemson Tigers in 2015. He started immediately and protected Deshaun Watson’s blind side very effectively. He has unlimited potential and could be one of the all time greats if he works hard and is lucky

enough to avoid injuries. He will be just a sophomore.

OT: Roderick Johnson – Florida State: Here is just another super talent that has started at Left Tackle since he was a true freshman. He is big, talented and quick and he should be the next Offensive Tackle taken behind Robinson.

OT: Adam Bisnowaty – Pittsburgh: The Pittsburgh Panthers might be right in the middle of a resurgence under new head coach Pat Narduzzi. The Offensive Line will be a team strength with 4 returning starters and Left Tackle Bisnowaty is the best. He’s a ripped guy that moves really well for his size.

OG: Ben Braden – Michigan: Braden kind of bounced around the Offensive Line before the arrival of Jim Harbaugh and now Braden is a solid fixture at Left Guard. He is around 6-6, 330 and doesn’t pack a lot of extra fat.

OG: Braden Smith – Auburn: Olathe, Kansas native, Smith is one of the more productive Offensive Linemen in the country. He destroyed Robert Nkemdiche last season just driving him off the ball time after time. I have no idea why the pundits aren’t all over this guy.

OG: Dan Feeney – Indiana: Feeney has been called the best player on his team for the past 3 seasons and he is a pretty solid Offensive Guard and a leader of a surprisingly good Offensive Line.

OG: Maea Teuhema – LSU: Teuhema was a true freshman last season and started from day one. He’s a huge Offensive Lineman from the Fort Worth area that was moved to Left Tackle last season. He’ll be an All American if he stays at Guard.

OC: Ethan Pocic – LSU: Pocic started at Right Guard as a freshman and then moved to Center last

He is very quick off of the ball and a leader of a very good run blocking Offensive Line.

OC: Pat Elfein – Ohio State: A starter at Right Guard the past two seasons, he moves to Center for his senior season and he should be very good here as he was at Guard.

DE: Myles Garrett – Texas A%M: Probably the number one pick in next year’s draft. He is big and fast off of the edge and a great pass rusher. Supposedly, he is of good character, as well.

DE: Derek Barnett – Tennessee: Barnett was another excellent member of the class of 2014 that started immediately and was productive from day one. It should be another good season for Barnett, but his Vols really need to win the SEC East this season.

DE: DeMarcus Walker – Florida State: Walker surprisingly returned for his senior season and he’s a great pass rusher for the Seminoles.

DE: Solomon Thomas – Stanford: This kid is a beast. He started last season at Nose Guard, but now he moves out to End. He is a pure terror coming off the edge and a danger to any Quarterback.

DT: Carlos Watkins – Clemson: The senior Watkins decided to come back for his last season and he is a force in the middle for the Tigers. An excellent run stopper and he even had an Interception last

year which he returned for a Touchdown.

DT: Montravius Adams – Auburn: Defense hasn’t been Auburn’s thing much in recent seasons but Adams is a load at Defensive Tackle. He decided to return for his senior year and he could be a force.

DT: Chris Wormley – Michigan: The Wolverines had a great defense and they should even be better next season. Wormly is a very productive, and aggressive Defensive Lineman.

DT: Malik McDowell – Michigan State: McDowell hasn’t gotten a lot of publicity, but he can play. He’s equally good against the pass and the run. He’s super quick for his size.

LB: Raekwon McMillan – Ohio State: The only Linebacker returning for the Buckeyes, he was also the team leader in tackles.

LB: Reuben Foster – Alabama: Head hunter of a Linebacker, he should lead the Tide in tackles this season.

LB: Tim Williams – Alabama: Williams is scary coming off the edge. Any offense is going to have to plan for him because he will be in their backfield the entire game.

LB: Shane Bullough – Michigan State: Bullough led the Spartans in tackles a year ago and he should repeat that this year. 3rd generation Spartan and a fiery player.

LB: Josey Jewel – Iowa: Very aggressive Linebacker and a team leader for the Hawkeye defense. Not only did he lead the team in tackles, but he also had 4 Interceptions and he returned one for a

Touchdown.

CB: Jalen Tabor – Florida: Tabor is big time. He came in as a freshman last year ready to play and he has performed well. I wouldn’t throw at him if I was a Quarterback, Tabor picked off 4 passes and returned 2 for scores.

CB: Jourdan Lewis – Michigan: Not the biggest Cornerback out there at only 5-10, 175, but he is all over the receivers he is covering. In spite of his small size, he is good in run support and blankets receivers. He had 2 Interceptions and took back one for a score.

CB: Desmond King – Iowa: King might have been Iowa’s best player last year and he had 8 Interceptions with one returned for a Touchdown. He was also one of the team’s top tacklers. Very solidly built guy that returned punts and kicks, also.

CB: Adoree Jackson – USC: Tremendous athlete that plays both ways. He’s one of the top Corners in the country, but he is a top Wide Receiver as well. He’s also a top return man with both punts and kicks.

CB: Cordrea Tankersley – Clemson: The only returner in the secondary at Clemson and he is a good place for the Clemson defensive coaches to start. Tankersley is a solid Corner at 6-1, 195 and he had 5 picks last year. He will probably cover the opponents top Wide Receiver.

DB: Donnie Miles – North Carolina: Miles was the Tar Heels top tackler last year. The aggressive Miami native is like a Linebacker playing Safety.

DB: Quin Blanding – Virginia: Blanding led the team in tackles as a true freshman in 2014. He was second on the team in tackles this past season. The Cavaliers have been struggling, but Blanding is a star.

DB: Derwin James – Florida State: As a true freshman last season, James was a beast. He’s a big Safety with great speed and he’s super aggressive. He’s one of the top players in the country, overall.

DB: Eddie Jackson – Alabama: Jackson is a tough player with good size and a nose for the football. Last season, Jackson had 6 Interceptions with 2 returned for Touchdowns.

DB: Jordan Whitehead – Pittsburgh:  Speedster that played both ways as a true freshman. He led the Panthers in Tackles last year and he played some at Running Back and Wide Receiver.
