One Week From Today

Abilene Christian University travels to Atlanta and plays Georgia State in the Georgia Dome to get the 2014 season started next Wednesday, so it’s less than one week from today. ACU is in it’s second year of Division 1 football and the game will be televised on ESPU.

But, one week from today is when the party really gets started.

The #21 ranked Texas A&M Aggies head to Columbia, South Carolina to take on the 9th ranked Gamecocks in the first game broadcast by the brand new SEC Network.

The other games of significance that day are Boise State with their brand new coach facing #18 Ole Miss which will be broadcast on the SEC’s other Network, ESPN.

19th ranked Arizona State hosts Weber State.

On Friday, Jacksonville State takes on #8 Michigan State. Colorado State is at Colorado and UNLV at Arizona.

Saturday, on August 30th, the it’s a full slate of games and we are off and running.  Florida State begins it’s defense of it’s 2013 championship with Oklahoma State.

Wisconsin vs LSU and Clemson vs Georgia should be the top games of the day.  I can’t wait to see new LSU RB Leonard Fournette and Georgia’s Todd Gurley. Wisconsin’s Melvin Gordon should be fun to watch as will Clemson’s defense featuring Vic Beasley at Defensive End.

New Big 10 member, Rutgers, travels to Seattle to play Washington State and their high powered offense.
